Akkodis is seeking a System Engineer for a Contract with a client in Mountainview, CA. The candidate must have strong automotive infotainment expertise to support system bring‑ups and verify system functionality.
Rate Range: $53/hour to $60/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
System Engineer job responsibilities include:
Lead requirements elicitation and clarification (SYS.1); translate stakeholder needs into mature, testable system requirements using tools like DOORS/Polarion.
Perform infotainment system bring-ups at bench and vehicle level; execute tests, support debugging, and verify end‑to‑end system functionality.
Create and mature system test plans; conduct pre‑verification events and evaluation drives from a system integration perspective.
Analyze vehicle/bench logs to assess software performance; identify, report, and track defects to closure.
Act as the central interface between customers and cross‑functional R&D teams (SW, HW, Components, Application); coordinate infotainment requirements and milestones.
Utilize automotive tools and protocols (e.g., CANoe, GENy, CAN/LIN/Ethernet, SPI) and apply embedded ECU fundamentals (MCU peripherals, memory, low‑level drivers) in daily system engineering activities.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering (Electronics, Electrical, Computer, Automotive, or related discipline).
5–12 years of experience in automotive systems engineering, infotainment domain, or embedded system development.
Strong expertise in automotive infotainment systems, including requirement management, system bring‑up, validation, and embedded ECU fundamentals.
Hands‑on experience with automotive tools and protocols such as Vector CAN tools (CANoe/GENy), CAN/LIN/Ethernet, and proficiency in DOORS/Polarion for requirement tracking.

Pay Details: $53.00 to $60.00 per hour
