Job Description
We are seeking a skilled System Engineer – Linux/Unix with a minimum of 5 years of experience in supporting and managing enterprise-level operating systems, with a strong emphasis on Linux environments deployed on both physical servers and hypervisors. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the Network Operations Center (NOC) team, as well as network engineers, database administrators (DBAs), and Wintel engineers, to ensure a stable and resilient operating environment that meets all contractual Service Level Agreement (SLA) requirements.
Key responsibilities:
Administer and optimize server performance.
• 24 x 7 STANDBY for service contract and maintenance services in rotating basis for critical production systems, ensuring high availability and system health.
• Coordinate with vendors and support team on problem resolution, implementation issues and upgrades.
• Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
• Deliver technical assistance for application and hardware issues.
• Manage storage provisioning and expansion.
• Ensure timely application of security patches and OS updates.
• Perform user administration tasks.
• Support backup and disaster recovery operations using enterprise backup system.
• Provision and manage LUNs using Pure Storage.
