Position: System Engineer
Functional Group: Life Cycle Services
Base location: Hong Kong
Travel: Occasional short business trips per project requirement, overseas travel generally not required.
Role Overview:
Our System Engineer role provides on-site and remote support for multiple clients. This role offers exposure to diverse technologies and environments, focusing on the maintenance and support of server/desktop, and network infrastructure.
Requirements / Pre-requisite:
· Education & Certificates:
Higher Diploma or above with major in Computing / Information Technology or related disciplines.
· Experience:
years or above experience in technical support in infrastructure field.
Proven and hands-on experience with network and security hardware and software, such as switches, routers, and firewalls (e.g., Palo Alto, Cisco, Fortinet, Aruba, and Juniper), intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), VPNs, and vulnerability scanners like Nessus.
· Technical Knowledge:
Basic understanding of signal propagation, antenna theory, modulation technology, and the ability to characterise RF performance.
Understanding of basic electrical circuits and safety precautions. Ability to analyse and troubleshoot electrical circuits.
Expertise in network protocols like TCP/IP, as well as hands-on experience with networking concepts such as LAN/WAN, DHCP, DNS, and VLAN.
Practical skills like using testing equipment, interpreting blueprints, and, applying and using computer-aided design software.
· Interpersonal Skills:
Proficiency in written and spoken English and Cantonese.
Possess excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders and documenting processes.
Be able to work well with multi-disciplinary cross-functional teams.
· Work Style:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve network issues in a production environment using diagnostic tools like network monitoring and diagnostic tools, taps, and, packet and spectrum analysers to troubleshoot issues.
· Flexibility:
Willing to working at construction site and powerplant
Key Responsibilities:
Design, deliver, implement, and support infrastructure system and network.
Provide support in person or remotely with clients per SLA and response times.
Handle network, desktop/server hardware and software, and application systems for incidents and issues resolution.
