Role description
The SCADA Systems Support Engineer provides handson technical support administration and engineering within a largescale Aveva Enterprise SCADA environment supporting Oil Gas pipeline operations This role works directly within the Aveva Enterprise platform troubleshooting configuring maintaining and optimizing multiple SCADA systems across 100 servers spanning development integration testing production and training environments As part of maintaining platform health and reliability this role also includes deploying Aveva Enterprise Updates Service Packs and Hotfixes through a structured staged deployment process
Key Responsibilities
Provide daytoday technical support for the Aveva Enterprise SCADA platform across multiple systems
Monitor and maintain Aveva Enterprise server health services and system performance
Troubleshoot and resolve runtime issues alarm system problems and communication failures
Administer Historian servers including data collection archival and retrieval operations
Manage DAServer and communication server configurations for field device connectivity
Support redundancy and failover configurations to ensure high availability
Configure and maintain SCADA displays graphics and operator interfaces
Develop and modify alarm configurations setpoints and notification rules
Support integration of new field devices RTUs and communication paths
Manage point database configurations and tag management across systems
Review and analyze AVEVA Change Management Checklists CMC to determine update applicability
Deploy Aveva Enterprise Updates Service Packs and Hotfixes following staged methodology DEV ITE Production TRN
Develop and maintain Process Checklists for repeatable update deployments
Deploy Aveva Enterprise client updates to operator workstations
Coordinate with Client Enterprise Team on compatibility validation
Maintain AVEVA Product Version Tool Master File
Serve as a technical escalation point and coordinate with AVEVA vendor support
Participate in root cause analysis and contribute to lessons learned
Participate in pair deployment model for production changes
Required Qualifications
5 years handson experience with Aveva Enterprise SCADA OASyS DNA
Demonstrated experience supporting SCADA systems in production environments
Strong understanding of Aveva Enterprise architecture including
Enterprise SCADA Servers and runtime components
Historian servers and data archival
DAServers and communication protocols
Redundancy and failover configurations
Knowledge of SCADA communication protocols DNP3 Modbus OPC
Understanding of SCADA network architectures and segmentation
Basic Windows Server administration skills
Preferred Qualifications
Oil Gas pipeline SCADA experience strongly preferred
Experience with Aveva Enterprise in largescale environments 50 servers
Aveva certifications or formal AVEVA training
Experience deploying updatespatches in production OT environments
