Under the direction of the Associate Director of Facilities and Life Support Systems, this full-time, exempt position operates, maintains, monitors, and repairs the aquarium’s life support systems. Essential functions include inspection, preventive maintenance, repair, replacement, and upgrades to main and satellite exhibit life support systems; maintaining accurate preventive maintenance and daily system logs; creating and updating SOPs; training staff on procedures; project managing LSS upgrades and installations; ordering supplies and parts; researching technologies; liaising with Animal Care; and other duties as assigned. Education & Experience: High school diploma; AALSO certification preferred; 2–5 years in life support systems or related field; strong communication and customer service; proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Physical requirements include frequent standing, walking, reaching, crouching, climbing, carrying, working indoors/outdoors, and lifting up to 50 lbs; must be comfortable working around and over water.
