Chief Solution Architect – Mobility Platforms

The Chief Platform Solution Architect works closely with Product Ownership and Group Leadership and plays a central role in how our platform evolves. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys being close to real systems, real trade-offs, and real engineering decisions. This person owns the target architecture, integration strategy, security and reliability standards, system boundaries, API contracts, and data governance across all products. Responsibilities (Must Have) Define target architecture: microservices, event-driven design, data platforms, device integrations • Design integration strategy across products (shared identity, billing, telemetry, APIs, multi-tenant data) • Set standards for security, reliability, observability, and performance • Own system boundaries, API contracts, and data governance • Architect the VPP/EMS and charging management integration layer with real-time telemetry • Guide key engineering decisions and review high-risk changes • Support hiring and mentoring of senior engineers Required Experience (Must Have) • 8 to 12+ years building large-scale distributed systems or platform products • Proven experience with IoT/telemetry or real-time control systems • Strong cloud architecture expertise (AWS/Azure/GCP), containers, Kubernetes • Deep API design, security (IAM), multi-tenant data separation. • Ability to communicate architecture clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders • Experience defining end-to-end architecture for multi-product platforms and setting technical standards • Hands-on experience with microservices, event-driven architecture, and Infrastructure as Code. Nice to Have • Energy, EV charging, trading, or grid markets knowledge • Kafka/streaming, time-series databases, edge computing experience • Experience building VPP/DERMS/EMS platforms Domain knowledge: GTFS, fleet operations, mobility platforms • TOGAF, Zachman, or SOA certification • Experience with OCPP, MQTT, or similar IoT protocols Show more Show less
