You are: A natural and experienced HANDS ON technical leader who inspires others to go beyond their “known” capabilities to create what hasn’t been created before. You live and breathe technology and are an outstanding communicator (you listen just as well as you speak), an innovator, and skilled software engineer who understands the word “impossible” is only for those that have never achieved greatness. It is important that you have held AI or FinTech engineering leadership positions at different size companies, from startups to institutions, achieving success at each step. The leadership of the company is extremely technical (and have led the engineering efforts to date), so it is critical that you manage up as well as down. While you may have colored outside the lines, you understand and believe that in a regulated environment, adhering to strict guidelines is imperative.
The Job: As the Sr. VP of Engineering you will architect, manage and lead the asset management & trading platform's engineering team members from development to production. This team has been at the forefront of AI and Blockchain and has close to 100 patents used in production by companies around the world.
Responsibilities
• Lead, mentor and manage a team of software and machine learning engineers
• Managing the team's road map
• Maintain communication between engineering and product teams
• Develop KPIs and communicate weekly progress to your team and management
• Work side by side with all engineering and product leadership teams to develop and implement strategic initiatives that drive growth
• Consistently ensure that systems are in place to promote, monitor and enforce regulatory compliance
• Frequently assess current and prospective engineering architecture, needs, and expectations
Required skills and qualifications
• TEAM PLAYER
• MUST have demonstrated experience and success in a FinTech or AI company
• You are a champion for using AI in engineering to accelerate the team
• A minimum of 10 years in Engineering Leadership with some in the AI space
• Have worked and excelled in both startup and institutional environments
• Proven track record of leading and managing engineering teams in a high-growth, innovative environment
• Excellent communication, presentation, and collaboration skills
• Able to demo complex concepts to non-engineering/non-technical groups in a way they can easily understand and champion
• Proven ability to develop and achieve engineering goals
• Strong understanding and experience with regulators/regulatory frameworks such as the SEC and FINRA (or at least have been involved in FinTech companies)
• Resourceful, with a strong ability to develop solutions, build relationships, and see opportunities that others might miss
• Must have a bachelor’s degree in engineering / computer science (advanced degree such as a masters in computer science is preferred)
