We're seeking a senior Trade Support Engineer to work in one of the worlds most successful high frequency trading funds. You'll be embedded within a team that partners directly with traders, portfolio managers, and trading assistants. You'll be focused on providing hands-on support, optimizing workflows, and help scale a trading infrastructure that spans equities, futures, options, FX, commodities and fixed income.
This hire can also be considered along the lines of Site Reliability Engineer / DevOps Engineering, dependant on the right engineers skill sets.
Key responsibilities:
• Act as the first point of contact for front office professionals, providing rapid diagnosis and resolution of trading-related issues.
• Partner with business stakeholders and developers to capture requirements and deliver impactful technology solutions.
• Support and maintain user-facing trading applications, including troubleshooting and optimization.
• Contribute to deployment, testing, and rollout of new applications and functionality.
• Conduct daily system checks and ensure stability throughout the trading day.
• Collaborate with middle- and back-office teams to resolve trade lifecycle challenges, including booking, security setup, pricing, and corporate actions.
What we’re looking for:
• Prior experience supporting front office trading systems within a financial services environment.
• Strong background in Unix/Linux and SQL.
• Scripting skills in Python or shell (or both).
• Solid knowledge of trading workflows and ability to identify and resolve breaks.
• Familiarity with FIX protocol and incident management best practices.
• Strong communication skills – able to bridge technical and non-technical stakeholders effectively.
• Exposure to commodities or fixed income trading support is a plus.
