Position Overview
The Quality Control Specialist will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and quality of generated design review comments. This person will thoroughly check output for errors, inconsistencies, and alignment with industry standards. Working closely with the product and engineering teams, the Quality Control Specialist will provide critical feedback that informs the AI's continuous learning and improvement.
Your Responsibilities
• Review, verify, and judge the severity of generated outputs for accuracy, relevance, and consistency.
• Identify construction, code, drafting, and coordination conflicts, as well as missing information in drawings across all disciplines.
• Ensure a high level of drawing accuracy, coordination, and constructability in outputs that meet the requirements of contractors, architects, and real estate developers.
• Document findings, categorize issues, and track trends in output errors or missed issues.
• Generate reports on QA outcomes to inform ongoing AI model training and improvements.
• Work closely with the product team to understand the intended functionality of AI features and provide feedback on potential improvements based on real-world QA findings.
• Participate in coordination meetings and technical discussions.
• Play an active role in the development and improvement of internal software tools.
Qualifications
• Minimum 2 years of proven Canadian work experience in quality control within the construction or architecture industry, specifically in a design or project management capacity.
• 2–5 years of drafting experience.
• Strong knowledge of construction drawings, applicable codes, and construction methods and processes.
• Strong ability to read and understand drawings across disciplines, including architectural, structural, MEP (mechanical, electrical, and plumbing), civil, and landscape.
• Meticulous attention to detail for spotting inconsistencies, errors, and quality issues in complex outputs.
• Strong AutoCAD skills.
• High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, and Bluebeam.
• Strong communication skills with ability to clearly document findings and communicate effectively with remote teams.
• Ability to adapt to fluctuating workloads, with flexibility to work extended hours when required.
• Willingness to complete an in-person technical assessment covering all disciplines as part of the interview process.
Preferred Skills
• Revit knowledge.
• Procore experience.
• Analytical mindset with ability to analyze patterns in errors and suggest improvements to AI training data.
