About the Role The QA/QC Inspector is responsible for ensuring that all fabrication and finishing works comply with approved drawings, specifications, applicable standards, and quality requirements. The role involves inspection, measurement, verification, documentation, and reporting of quality compliance across steel structure fabrication/welding, Glass Reinforced Concrete (GRC), Fibre Reinforced Plastic (FRP), Coating / Paint, and joinery works within a fabrication facility. Responsibilities • Raw Material Inspection • Inspect and verify incoming raw materials, including steel sections/profiles, plates, bolts, welding consumables, resins, GRC & GRP consumables and Joinery Material, etc. • Review and validate Mill Test Certificates (MTCs) and supplier certificates. • Ensure proper identification, storage, handling and protection of materials. • Raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) for non-compliant materials. • Steel Fabrication Inspection • Inspect cutting, drilling, fit-up, and assembly activities. • Verify dimensions against approved drawings. • Ensure fabrication complies with Method Statements, ITPs, WPS & PQR. • Welding Inspection • Ensure welding complies with approved WPS and PQR. • Verify welder qualifications. • Inspect weld size, profile, throat thickness and defects. • Coordinate and witness NDT activities. • GRC Works • Inspect moulds, reinforcement, spraying/casting, and curing. • Verify thickness, embedments and surface finish. • Monitor the installation of the supporting structure with GRC. • FRP Works • Inspect mold size/dimensions, lay-up process, resin mixing and curing. • Check laminate thickness and bonding quality. • Monitor / Check paint process against the approved system. • Joinery & Finishing Works • Inspect joinery cutting, fabrication, alignment, joints, and finishes. • Verify compliance with approved samples and drawings. • Final Inspection & Product Release • Conduct final inspections prior to painting, packing, and dispatch. • Ensure products are defect-free and compliant. • Documentation & Reporting • Maintain inspection reports, checklists, and records. • Prepare NCRs and monitor close-outs. • Support audits. Qualifications • Diploma or Degree in Engineering or related field. • Having Certifications such as (CSWIP 3.1 & ISO 9001:2015) would be an advantage. • Experience in QA/QC inspection within fabrication facilities. • Experience in steel fabrication, welding, GRC, FRP, and joinery works. Required Skills • Strong knowledge of fabrication drawings and standards especially AWS. • Good inspection, reporting, and communication skills. • Ability to identify non-conformities and follow corrective actions. Preferred Skills • Experience in QA/QC inspection within fabrication facilities. • Experience in steel fabrication, welding, GRC, FRP, and joinery works.
