Join Jacobs as a Lead Electrical Engineer to spearhead technical excellence across our global data center portfolio. This pivotal role involves shaping the electrical infrastructure of mission-critical facilities while fostering strategic growth and nurturing talent in an innovative environment. Key Responsibilities • Provide expert technical leadership in electrical engineering within diverse data center projects. • Collaborate with clients to establish design strategies aimed at optimizing electrical systems, including MV/LV distribution, UPS, generators, grounding, and redundancy. • Champion advancements in power systems, energy efficiency, and resiliency, while creating an innovative atmosphere. • Develop and uphold Jacobs' electrical standards, specifications, and best practices to ensure excellence. • Support and enhance commissioning, troubleshooting, and lifecycle performance of electrical systems. Strategic Impact & Business Development • Act as the face of Jacobs' electrical expertise in client interactions and industry engagements. • Collaborate with sales teams to secure high-value data center projects through strategic contributions. • Engage in sales calls, client workshops, and proposal development to formulate winning strategies. • Influence business strategy by delivering technical differentiation and excellence in project execution. Mentorship & Knowledge Sharing • Provide mentorship and coaching to engineers and designers in the electrical discipline. • Publish technical papers and contribute to Jacobs' thought leadership initiatives. • Present at industry conferences, representing Jacobs in professional associations. Execution & Multi-Tasking • Balance strategic initiatives with hands-on project execution while managing diverse priorities. • Lead root cause analysis and continuous improvement efforts across global operational sites. • Ensure compliance with all relevant codes and standards (NEC, IEEE, NFPA, IEC, etc.). Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; Master's preferred. • 20+ years of electrical engineering experience, with a minimum of 15 years in mission-critical/data center environments. • Proven expertise in MV/LV distribution, UPS systems, generator sizing, fault coordination, and arc flash analysis. • Strong knowledge of NEC, IEEE, NFPA, IEC, and local electrical codes. • A track record of technical innovation addressing client challenges effectively. • Professional Engineering (PE) license or equivalent certification is a plus. • Exceptional communication, leadership, and multi-tasking capabilities. Preferred Experience • Experience with hyperscale, colocation, and enterprise data center clients. • Participation in sustainability and energy optimization initiatives is advantageous. • Experience in vendor management and contract negotiation. • Hands-on commissioning and retro-commissioning expertise. Work Environment • Primarily office-based with occasional travel to data center sites and client locations. • Travel up to 25% based on project and business needs. • On-call availability for critical incident support required.
