Detailed Roles and Responsibilities
• Coordinate and maintain data centre facilities monitoring and management systems and report on status and performance
• Identify, escalate, and resolve faults in coordination with internal technical teams and external vendors
• Conduct periodic audits of data centre equipment and systems to ensure proper functionality
• Monitor and manage infrastructure systems including building fabric, cooling, power, security, safety, and cleanliness
• Support IT rack installations with necessary power, cooling, security, and networking resources
• Maintain accurate technical documentation for processes and procedures used in operations
• Supervise subcontractors and internal teams in preventive maintenance based on the approved PPM schedule
• Coordinate CAFM services ensuring accurate mapping of all activities in the system
• Troubleshoot and resolve power, cooling, security, and network issues within the data centre environment
• Implement environment changes as directed by senior staff or management
• Monitor data centre infrastructure and escalate issues when required
• Provide operational service cover for data centre resources
• Install, move, and decommission hardware when necessary
• Ensure adherence to risk, safety, and security protocols in line with EHS standards
• Prepare and present customer and management reports as required
• Provide technical support and collaborate with other members of the data centre team to ensure smooth operations
Experience Required
• Minimum 8 years of working experience in data centres or mission critical facilities
Preferred Skills Required
• Knowledge of data centre infrastructure including civil, mechanical, security systems, and networking
• Familiarity with networking protocols, server hardware, and virtualization technologies
• Experience in troubleshooting and maintaining server and network infrastructure
• Hands-on experience with technical evaluations, SOPs, EOPs, and preventive and corrective maintenance activities
• Excellent communication skills in English, Arabic language is an advantage
• Ability to read, understand, and review technical drawings
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools such as Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint
• Strong organizational skills, problem solving ability, and sound judgement in high pressure environments
Educational Qualification Required
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Facility Management, or equivalent
• Preferred certifications from Uptime Institute, CNet, EPI or similar governing bodies such as ATD, AOS, CDCMP, CDCE
Specific Industry Experience Required
• Extensive experience in data centres or mission critical facility environments with proven ability to maintain high standards of operational reliability
