Contract: 6 Month (Possibility of extension or conversion) Location: Toronto Rate: $62-$66 JOB DESCRIPTION Insight Global is looking for an information security specialist to join one of the leading banks in Toronto. This role focuses on leveraging audit and regulatory findings data to drive advanced analytics, predictive modeling, aggregate risk, and data-driven decision-making to enhance risk management and compliance. This role will be central to strengthening our risk management framework, ensuring findings are analysed with rigor, and enabling leaders to make data driven decisions that enhance compliance, control effectiveness, and sustainability of remediation. Here's some of what you may be asked to perform: -Partner with Data Managers, GRC, and risk stakeholders to define and execute the data and analytics strategy supporting audit, regulatory, and assurance governance priorities. Design, build, and deploy statistical, machine learning, and predictive models to identify risk trends, severity, control weaknesses, and emerging issues across findings and remediation data. -Analyze large, complex datasets to perform root cause analysis, risk prioritization, and sustainability assessments, translating results into actionable insights for leadership and oversight forums. -Develop and maintain executive‑level dashboards, scorecards, KPIs, and BI reporting that communicate risk intelligence clearly to regulators, auditors, and senior management. -Ensure analytics solutions meet governance, interpretability, ethical, and regulatory standards (e.g., NIST, ISO), with strong documentation and model oversight. -Automate recurring analysis, reporting, and data pipelines to improve efficiency, data quality, and scalability using modern tools (Python, SQL, Power BI, AI/Copilot). -Mentor junior analysts and data scientists, driving best practices in analytics, modeling, and storytelling while fostering a culture of analytical excellence and innovation. REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE •Undergraduate degree or Technical Certificate • 7+ years data science and analytics experience -Advanced proficiency in Python, R, SQL; familiarity with big data and cloud platforms (Spark, AWS, Azure, GOP). • Experience with machine learning, predictive analytics, and statistical modeling applied to risk or audit data • Expertise in data visualization and storytelling using Power BI, Tableau or equivalent. • Knowledge of audit methodologies, regulatory frameworks (e.g., OCC, Fed, Basel, SOX, NIST, ISO 27001), and issue management practices • Proficiency in Atlassian Confluence, including a strong understanding of spaces, templates, macros, and permissions. Develop web applications and user interfaces using React, HTML, and CSS, ensuring a responsive and seamless user experience. Integrate Confluence with other Atlassian products and third party applications as needed for seamless workflow. • Knowledgeable in Artificial Intelligence to lead the design, development and deployment of AI-driven solutions that enhance business operations, decision-making, and innovation. • Experience with GRC platforms (e.g., Archer, Serivce Now, MetricStream) a strong plus • Understanding of risk taxonomies, KRIs and control effectiveness measures. • Risk Mindset: Anticipates and quantifies risks to support proactive mitigation. • Data Storytelling: Translates technical analysis into clear, concise narratives for executives and regulators.
