We’re looking for a detail-oriented and proactive **Help Desk & Cybersecurity Associate** to support our growing team and ensure the reliability, security, and compliance of our internal systems. • *About the Role** The **Help Desk & Cybersecurity Associate** will play a key role in maintaining 1VALET’s internal IT operations. You’ll be responsible for providing Tier 1 support to employees, managing IT assets, and ensuring that our systems meet SOC 2 compliance requirements. This role combines hands-on technical troubleshooting with structured policy and process development to keep our infrastructure running securely and efficiently. • *What You’ll Do** • *Help Desk Support** - Provide first-line technical support to employees - troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues. - Assist with employee onboarding and offboarding, ensuring smooth IT setup and transitions. - Create and maintain IT documentation, user guides, and support procedures. - Identify recurring issues and recommend process or system improvements. • *Asset Management** - Lead the development of an **Asset Management Program** and related policies. - Maintain an accurate inventory of all IT assets throughout their lifecycle. - Coordinate procurement and deployment of hardware with vendors and internal teams. - Assess asset health, plan for replacements, and manage disposals. - Work with HR and the Engineering team to align on asset tracking, amortization, and lifecycle policies. • *SOC 2 Compliance & Cybersecurity** - Support SOC 2 readiness and maintain compliance with AICPA assurance standards. - Manage secure data backups and implement **disaster recovery** and **business continuity** measures. - Monitor system capacity and proactively mitigate availability risks. - Develop and maintain policies for data classification, retention, and secure destruction. - Ensure all data collection and storage practices are legal, ethical, and clearly communicated. - Draft plain-language privacy policies and data-handling documentation. • *What You Bring** - **3+ years** of experience in IT Help Desk or technical support roles. - College diploma or degree in **Computer Science Technology** or a related field. - Strong troubleshooting skills with a proactive, problem-solving mindset. - Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. - Highly organized and adaptable in a fast-paced environment. - Understanding of cybersecurity best practices and compliance frameworks is an asset. • *Working at 1VALET** - **Full-time, 40 hours/week** - **Hybrid** at our Ottawa offices - Collaborative, fast-paced environment focused on innovation and continuous improvement - Opportunity to make a direct impact on the technology driving the next generation of smart buildings • *Ready to Join Us?** If you’re passionate about IT, cybersecurity, and helping teams succeed with technology, we’d love to hear from you.
