Job Description Job Description DEVOPS ENGINEER 100% Remote | United States Overview We are supporting a high-growth health and biotechnology company that is building a cloud-native platform handling sensitive, large-scale biological and health data. This is a greenfield DevOps role where you will establish the infrastructure, tooling, and operational standards from day one. This role is perfect for a DevOps Engineer who enjoys building systems the right way from the start and wants meaningful ownership rather than incremental maintenance work. What You’ll Do • Architect and provision cloud infrastructure using AWS services including EC2, S3, RDS, and VPC • Build infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code principles • Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines supporting Python/Django and React applications • Manage containerized environments using Docker and introduce orchestration as scale requires • Implement security best practices by default, including IAM, encryption, and network segmentation • Establish monitoring and logging to track system health, performance, and reliability • Support database operations including backups, scaling, and recovery • Act as a foundational partner to engineering as the platform scales What We’re Looking For • Strong hands-on experience with AWS in production environments • Deep knowledge of Docker and containerized workflows • Experience building CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions or GitLab CI • Solid scripting skills in Bash and/or Python • Experience supporting PostgreSQL or similar databases • Strong understanding of security fundamentals and access management • Comfort working independently in a fast-moving, early-stage environment Compensation Base salary varies by level and experience: • Junior level: approximately $95K-$120K • Mid level: approximately $135K-$165K • Senior level: approximately $175K-$210K+ WHY THIS ROLE • Build cloud infrastructure from the ground up • High autonomy and ownership • Mission-driven work with meaningful societal impact • Fully remote team and flexible working environment • Competitive compensation with growth upside
