Position: DevOps Engineer, Trilogy (Remote) - $100,000/year USD
You're a Dev Ops engineer who prioritizes prevention over reaction. If you find satisfaction in dissecting convoluted legacy infrastructure, architecting streamlined systems, and eliminating manual toil through automation, this opportunity aligns with your strengths. We need a Dev Ops and AWS infrastructure specialist who excels under pressure, in environments where 99.9% uptime is non-negotiable. Your work will span a portfolio of acquired products—each with distinct characteristics—as you migrate them into a unified, scalable AWS environment and establish monitoring and automation that minimize incidents before they occur.
Most organizations assign you to support a single technology stack. We expect you to unify and refine multiple stacks without causing disruption. Where others distribute databases, we take a different approach: strategic consolidation to drive cost efficiency and simplify management across our entire portfolio. This position isn't suited for someone content with maintaining the status quo; it's designed for someone who encounters fragmented, inconsistent infrastructure and immediately envisions how to improve it.
Your scope will extend from infrastructure migrations to AI-powered automation, performance optimization, database transitions, and cost management. This means identifying and resolving existing issues, orchestrating seamless cloud migrations with minimal downtime, and leveraging AI/ML-driven workflows to automate significant portions of your responsibilities. You'll possess genuine decision-making authority over infrastructure—no delays waiting for sign-off from stakeholders disconnected from the technical reality.
If you're a self-directed problem-solver energized by unraveling complex systems and ensuring they operate flawlessly, this role will be exceptionally rewarding. If you require constant guidance, struggle with managing multiple technology stacks, or prefer greenfield projects over bringing structure to disorder, this position will not be a good fit. If you're prepared to assume ownership of a high-impact infrastructure role with opportunities to build, refine, and automate at scale, submit your application today!
What
You Will Be Doing
• Orchestrating and executing sophisticated infrastructure transformations, including transitions from legacy platforms to AWS cloud infrastructure and lift-and-shift migrations.
• Architecting and deploying monitoring strategies and creating automation for monitoring, software deployment processes, and operational procedures.
• Conducting system monitoring, system backups, incident management, database migrations, database configuration, and cost optimization initiatives.
What You Won’t Be Doing
• Spending your time in Jira and interminable status updates - we prioritize professionals who deliver solutions, not just document issues.
• Preserving obsolete systems in perpetuity - you'll be authorized to pursue substantial improvements.
• Waiting for bureaucratic approval processes - you'll possess the authority to implement immediate remediation during incidents.
• Operating within restrictive technical silos - this position demands both comprehensive and specialized knowledge.
• Justifying budget for essential infrastructure enhancements - we recognize the value of infrastructure investment.
