POSITION SUMMARY (To describe in general the purpose, duties, and responsibilities of the position)
The Technical Lead will oversee the design, development, and delivery of data analytics solutions for an enterprise
Insurance Data Platform. This role blends hands-on data modelling and engineering expertise with team leadership to
guide end-to-end implementation on Azure using Snowflake and dbt. The ideal candidate brings strong domain
knowledge in Insurance and Guidewire, deep technical proficiency, and the ability to translate business requirements
into scalable data solutions.
RESPONSIBLITIES
• Lead a team of data engineers and modelers to build data warehouses, data marts, and lakehouse solutions
on Snowflake.
• Design and implement enterprise data models, including dimensional models and normalized structures,
aligned to business analytics and regulatory reporting needs.
• Translate business requirements, KPIs, and reporting needs into scalable data analytic model designs.
• Oversee development of end-to-end data pipelines, including source-to-target mappings, data
transformations, and ETL/ELT workflows.
• Perform code reviews, provide technical feedback, and ensure adherence to engineering, modeling, and data
quality standards.
• Drive development of data dictionaries, metadata, and documentation to support governance and
traceability.
• Implement DevOps practices, infrastructure-as-code, and CI/CD pipelines to support agile delivery on Azure.
• Work closely with product owners and business stakeholders to plan Program Increments and Sprints using
Agile methodologies and tools such as Jira.
• Ensure data accuracy, completeness, and alignment with regulatory and insurance reporting requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize data architecture, performance, and scalability.
• Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Contribute to Stratus practice development through participation in proposal development, thought
leadership and development of accelerators
• Oversee concurrent projects, ensuring effective delegation of tasks across the team
QUALIFICATIONS
• Strong experience in data modeling (dimensional & normalized) for enterprise data warehouses and
lakehouse architecture.
• Deep knowledge of the Insurance domain, a plus.
• Strong understanding of Guidewire (PC/BC/CC) data structures; experience with Guidewire DHIC, a plus.
• Proficiency in SQL and hands-on data analysis.
• Extensive experience developing data solutions on Azure using Databricks and/or Snowflake.
• Experience with Agile delivery, Jira, and sprint planning.
• DevOps and infrastructure-as-code experience (CI/CD, version control, automation).
• Familiarity with data cataloging tools, metadata management, and data quality frameworks. • Excellent communication, documentation, and leadership skills.
