About the Role
digitalSamaritan Media Inc. is looking for a creative storyteller who can help transform tech content into engaging, compelling narratives. As our Creative Content Director, you'll work directly with me to conceptualize, storyboard, and shape content that resonates with our growing audience. This isn't just about making tech videos—it's about crafting stories that make technology accessible, entertaining, and memorable.
What You'll Do
• Storyboard & Conceptualize: Develop creative concepts and storyboards that blend tech content with compelling storytelling
• Creative Direction: Guide the creative vision for content, determining how we present information in the most engaging way possible
• Collaborate on Content Strategy: Work closely with me to brainstorm ideas, plan content arcs, and develop narratives that keep our audience hooked
• Bridge Tech & Story: Find innovative ways to marry technical subject matter with narrative storytelling techniques
• Direct Visual Approach: Determine shot composition, visual flow, and creative approaches (while our editor handles the actual editing)
• Iterate & Refine: Review content and provide creative feedback to continuously improve our storytelling
Who You Are
• A Content Creator Yourself: You actively create content and understand what makes content engaging from firsthand experience
• Creatively Trained: Formal training in film, media production, or creative content (Vancouver Film School, similar institutions, or equivalent experience)
• Story-First Mindset: You instinctively think in stories and can find the narrative angle in any topic
• Tech-Curious: You don't need to be a tech expert, but you're genuinely interested in technology and can make it accessible
• Collaborative: You thrive working closely with others and can translate abstract ideas into concrete creative plans
• Located in Vancouver: This is an in-person role requiring regular face-to-face collaboration
Requirements
• Portfolio or reel demonstrating your creative work and storytelling ability
• Experience with content creation (YouTube, social media, film, etc.)
• Understanding of storyboarding and pre-production planning
• Strong visual storytelling skills
• Ability to work part-time with flexible scheduling
