Role Purpose: The Assistant Headteacher Progress and Data is a strategic and operational leadership role responsible for the design, implementation and oversight of assessment, data, tracking and progress systems across Years 5–13. The post-holder will ensure that high-quality, accurate and meaningful data is used to drive improved pupil outcomes, raise standards, inform teaching and learning, and support strategic decision-making at classroom, departmental, phase, senior leadership and governance levels. The role is central to embedding a strong culture of evidence-informed practice, accountability, consistency and continuous improvement, aligned with the expectations of a high-performing British curriculum international school and the strategic vision of King’s College Doha. Key Responsibilities Leadership and Management • Work closely with Heads of Department, Heads of Phase and pastoral leaders. • Support middle leaders in developing effective departmental tracking systems • Contribute to performance management processes through data-informed evaluation • Deputise for the Deputy Head (Academic) as required. Data, Assessment and Tracking • Lead the collection, validation, analysis and reporting of pupil progress and attainment data. • Ensure robust assessment systems from Year 5 to Year 13. • Oversee baseline assessments, internal assessments, standardised testing and external examination data. • Ensure data integrity, consistency and reliability across phases and departments Curriculum and Department Development • Develop innovative teaching approaches and high-quality subject-specific activities. • Ensure strong vertical and horizontal curriculum progression. • Analyse pupil performance data and act to secure outstanding progress. • Engage in continuous professional development and reflective practice. Progress, Standards and Outcomes • Identify trends, patterns, strengths and underperformance. • Lead intervention strategies for individuals, groups and cohorts. • Track pupil progress towards GCSE and A Level targets Person Specification (Essential=E, Desirable= D) • Qualified teacher status (UK or equivalent recognised qualification).(E) • Significant experience teaching within the British curriculum.(E) • Proven leadership experience in data, assessment or progress roles(.E) • High-level data literacy and analytical skills.(E) • Experience of using data to improve pupil outcomes.(E) • Experience in a senior or extended leadership role.(D) • Experience with inspection and accreditation frameworks.(D) • Experience of developing digital data systems and dashboards.(D) Personal Qualities: • Ability to inspire a love of learning and performance. • Strong communication and teamwork skills. • High energy, creativity, and a positive, can-do attitude. • Commitment to contributing fully to school life.
