About the Role We are seeking a motivated and talented Analytics Engineer to support our data engineering and analytics initiatives. The ideal candidate will work alongside our current data team focusing on enhancing existing processes, optimizing data workflows, and providing analytical insights across various data sources. Key responsibilities include maintaining data pipelines, working with SQL and cloud-based platforms like Azure, and building analytical dashboards. Familiarity with our tool stacks such as Microsoft SSIS, Qlik SAAS is highly desirable along with experience in data engineering and a strong understanding of financial and/or insurance data. Key Responsibilities ETL and ELT Tool Support • Provide maintenance and enhancements for ETL processes using Microsoft SSIS and Azure Data Factory to ensure efficient, reliable data extraction, transformation, and loading across our data infrastructure Data Model Architecture • Design and optimize data models to improve data accessibility, scalability, and performance for various analytical needs. • Work closely with Data Architects to develop, optimize and manage current Enterprise Data Warehouse and other enterprise systems. Dashboard and Reporting Support • Assist data analysts by supporting Qlik dashboard development, troubleshooting issues, and improving data visualization for actionable insights. Data Engineering Best Practices • Work closely with IT developers to establish and uphold best practices in data management, including version control, testing protocols, and CI/CD pipelines. • Support adherence to security, compliance, and data governance standards within the architecture and collaborate with relevant stakeholders. Customer Support • Provide customer assistance with reporting tools, software, and reports. • Actively seeking out relationships with the customer community, proactively communicating relevant information and discussing their needs, initiatives, and service levels through periodic meetings. Project and Task Delivery • Analyze existing processes, workflows, opportunities and provide solutions to improve business processes. • Requirement gathering for projects and tasks by working with customers to determine needs. Required Qualifications • Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. • Experience: 2+ years in data warehousing • Proven experience as an Analytics Engineer, Data Engineer, or a similar role. • Hands-on professional on Azure Cloud experience. • Technical Skills: • Proficiency with Microsoft SSIS and Azure Data Factory for ETL • Programming experience in MS SQL Server, Oracle • Experience with SQL and Python for data processing and automation. • Familiarity with Qlik for creating reports and dashboards. • Experience with cloud-based environments (Azure) and cloud-native architecture principles. • Knowledge of version control systems (e.g. GIT) and CI/CD practices for automating data workflows. • Knowledge of data modeling and architecture, particularly in the insurance industry. • Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex regulatory information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including executive presence. • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Visio, Teams, Jira/Confluence and SharePoint. Desired Attributes • Guidewire CDA Integration: Utilize Guidewire Cloud Data Access (CDA) to extract, transform, and load (ETL) Guidewire data into downstream systems, ensuring data availability for reporting and analytics. • Experience with Guidewire Insurance Suite on the Cloud (PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, ClaimCenter). • Experience with Massive Parallel Processing (MPP) technologies such as Snowflake, DBT. • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail in identifying and addressing issues. • Proactive, solution-oriented mindset with the ability to adapt to changes and resolve issues quickly. • Collaborative and team-oriented, able to build strong relationships across the organization.
