Technical Sales Representative - Data Centres

Our client, a supplier of data center solutions, is looking for a Technical Sales Representative to sell data centre components to the consulting/construction industry. The territory is primarily Montreal and surrounding area, but can occasionally include Quebec and Eastern Ontario.
• Work autonomously to prospect and develop new business, creating and maintaining a robust pipeline and actively driving sales;
• Respond to customer needs promptly by identifying applicable solutions, attending site meetings, generating proposals and closing orders;
• Take the lead on tender submissions, RFQs/RFPs, in coordination with Outside Sales, Inside Sales, Product Specialists, Engineering and Accounting;
• Prepare technical specifications and drawings, and review external specifications to identify and highlight opportunities for the companiy's products and solutions;
• Ensure a successful transition from sales process to service delivery and after sales service;
• Develop and mentor customers by attending local tradeshows and events, and making presentations to clients including consulting engineers, contractors and end users;
• Maintain sales reports regarding district activities and results;
• Develop and maintain an in-depth knowledge of product lines represented by the company.
Requirements:
• DEC/Bachelor's in Electrical, Mechanical or Computer Engineering or equivalent, or RCDD certification;
• At least 5 years of experience in the consulting engineering, construction, data center industry (infrastructure - power, cooling, IT Racks, UPS, PDU, DCIM, etc.);
• Proven record in sales with existing strong working relationships with consulting engineering firms, contractors, end users;
• Able to read and understand architectural, structural, communications, security, mechanical and electric schematic drawings and documentation;
• Excellent spoken and written communication, and presentation skills;
• Proficient with applications including MS Office, Adobe, AutoCAD;
• Access to a vehicle (car allowance provided);
• Asset: Familiarity with data centre design best practices;
• Bilingual.
