WHO WE ARE: Founded in 2007, DTI (Diversified Technology, Inc.) is a successful African American owned IT Consulting/Staffing firm based in Chicago's Loop. WHAT WE DO: We focus on providing delivery, staffing, and supported services such as enterprise integration/implementations including, but not limited to, CRM, EAM, ERP, PMO, and QA. We service clients in SLED (state/local gov't & education), financial services, fortune, public utility, as well as regularly partnering with Big 4 SI partners. DTI is bidding on work with our partner for their public utility client. We are seeking a Technical Project Manager with Cloud Technologies experience. If that's you, we would love to connect! This will be a multi-year engagement. Must work on our W2 Consultant should live in the following areas: Portland, OR, NY State, Boston, Connecticut, New Haven. Onsite expectations are 3 days per week MUST have Public Utility experience Role Summary The Technical Project Manager – Cloud Technologies will lead and manage cloud platform initiatives encompassing the design, implementation, migration, and ongoing management of cloud and virtual infrastructure. This role blends strong technical depth in cloud technologies with disciplined project governance to deliver platform upgrades, modernization, and refresh programs aligned to enterprise architecture and PMO standards. The consultant will work closely with architecture, engineering, security, and business stakeholders to ensure cloud solutions are delivered on time, within budget, and in alignment with the client's technical strategy. Key Responsibilities Project Planning & Governance • Participate in scope definition, technical solution design, budget estimation, and resource planning. • Develop and manage detailed project timelines, accounting for technical complexity, dependencies, and critical path activities. • Prepare Project Definition documents, project status reports, and materials for Project Committees and steering forums. • Monitor and control all project tasks, milestones, and deliverables. • Manage project budgets and report on financial performance and variances. • Support task tracking, scheduling, and progress updates using Clarity PPM or equivalent PMO tools. • Lead project close-out activities, including post-implementation reviews, success metrics, and lessons learned. Technical Leadership & Architecture Alignment • Provide technical expertise to support cloud architecture planning, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards and future-state strategy. • Collaborate with architecture and engineering teams on cloud platform upgrades, migrations, and refresh initiatives. • Perform technical assessments and solution evaluations across different cloud and virtual infrastructure options. • Provide technical input to architectural roadmaps, ensuring plans and budgets reflect the activities required to move from current state to target state. • Contribute to leading technical solution implementations aligned with the client's overall technology strategy. • Ensure adherence to Architecture standards, PMO methodology, and governance frameworks. Cloud Technology Expertise Provide leadership, oversight, and coordination across the following cloud and virtualization platforms: • Microsoft Azure – cloud infrastructure, platform services, and virtual environments • Nutanix – hyperconverged infrastructure and private cloud platforms • Google Cloud Platform (GCP) – compute, storage, networking, and cloud services Implementation & Delivery Support • Assist with and supervise hardware and software installation activities as required to support project delivery. • Provide expert guidance during cloud migrations, platform builds, and upgrades. • Assist in the preparation of cloud infrastructure standards, including build, configuration, and operational guidelines for assigned technology domains. • Coordinate IOC cross-functional teams and facilitate regular program and project status meetings. • Support operational readiness and transition to support teams. Risk, Quality & Continuous Improvement • Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies and contingency plans, considering technical and business impacts. • Prepare and maintain quality plans. • Identify, develop, and initiate innovative solutions where standards or precedents may not exist. • Develop and maintain comprehensive technical and project documentation as project deliverables. • Support the development and refinement of project management procedures and best practices. • Identify training needs and assist in the preparation of training plans for stakeholders and technical teams. Required Qualifications • Proven experience managing cloud infrastructure and platform projects. • Strong technical background in cloud technologies and virtual infrastructure. • Demonstrated ability to translate complex technical concepts into executable project plans. • Experience coordinating cross-functional and geographically distributed teams. • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage local and global senior management. • Experience working within formal PMO and enterprise architecture governance frameworks. Preferred Qualifications • Experience supporting large enterprise or regulated environments. • Hands-on exposure to Microsoft Azure, Nutanix, and Google Cloud Platform initiatives. • Familiarity with Clarity PPM or similar enterprise project management tools. • Strong documentation, reporting, and executive presentation skills. • Experience leading cloud migration, modernization, or hybrid cloud programs.
