We’re seeking a hands-on Tech Lead to architect, build, and lead the delivery of a Rocket Resume, a consumer-facing product. This role combines deep full-stack engineering with technical leadership, ownership of system design, product development, and day-to-day execution.
Responsibilities
• Lead the technical design and architecture of a scalable consumer product
• Actively contribute code across the stack (frontend and backend)
• Own key technical decisions, trade-offs, and long-term maintainability
• Lead and mentor engineers through code reviews, design reviews, and pairing
• Collaborate closely with product, design, and stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions
• Drive project execution from concept through launch and iteration
• Ensure high standards for code quality, performance, security, and reliability
• Identify and address technical debt proactively
Core Technical Skills
• Strong frontend experience (e.g., React, Next.js, or similar frameworks)
• Strong backend experience (e.g., Node.js, APIs, services, data access layers)
• Experience designing and consuming REST and/or TRPC APIs
• Solid understanding of modern web architecture, state management, and build tooling
• Database experience (SQL and/or No
SQL)
• Experience with CI/CD, testing strategies, and production monitoring
• Proven ability to design systems and product functionality end-to-end
• Experience leading technical projects and setting engineering direction
• Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical partners
• Ability to balance speed, quality, and scalability in a consumer environment
• Comfortable making decisions and being accountable for outcomes
Qualifications
• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Prior experience as a Tech Lead, Lead Engineer, or Senior Engineer with ownership
• Experience building and scaling consumer-facing products
• Strong product mindset and user-centric thinking
