We are looking for a hands-on On-Premises DevOps Engineer to support and operate our on-prem Kubernetes and container platform for a 1-year project. This role is well-suited for mid-level DevOps engineers with practical experience running production environments, especially in on-prem or private infrastructure setups.
You will work closely with application, infrastructure, and operations teams to ensure stable deployments, system availability, and platform reliability.
Responsibilities
• Kubernetes Clusters: Install, configure, and maintain Kubernetes clusters on-premises.
• Containerization: Work with Docker containers and containerd for application deployments.
• Kafka Integration: Integrate Kafka for event-driven communication and data streaming within our on-premises setup.
• Guacamole Experience: Leverage Guacamole for secure remote access to our systems.
• Infrastructure as Code: Use tools like Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation to manage on-premises infrastructure.
• Monitoring and Alerting: Set up monitoring, logging, and alerting for Kubernetes clusters in our on-premises environment (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
• Security Best Practices: Implement Kubernetes security measures within our on-premises setup, including RBAC, network policies, and pod security policies.
Our Requirements:
• Diploma & bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in Kubernetes concepts (pods, services, deployments, stateful sets) within an on-premises context.
• Experience with Docker and containerd for on-premises container management
• Experience with on-premises infrastructure and data centers
• Familiarity with Kubernetes networking (CNI plugins, ingress controllers, service meshes) in an on-premises environment.
• Knowledge of infrastructure as code tools (e.g., Helm, Kustomize, Terraform) for on-premises deployments.
• Ability to set up monitoring, logging, and alerting for Kubernetes clusters in an on-premises setup.
• Understanding of Kubernetes security best practices within an on-premises context.
• Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities in complex on-premises Kubernetes environments.
• Excellent communication skills for collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, on-premises environment.
• A continuous learning mindset to keep up with the evolving Kubernetes ecosystem.
• Attention to detail when configuring and managing on-premises Kubernetes resources.
• Proactive approach to identifying and resolving potential issues within our on-premises systems.
• [Optional: Relevant certifications, e.g., Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)] will be at an advantage
