Responsibilities
• Database administration in Pre-Production & Production environments
• Performance tuning & making query optimization recommendations
• Patching of the Windows Clusters and SQL server instances they host
• Working with Technical and Solutions Architects to design and implement new SQL Server solutions using established design patterns
• Deploying new instances of SQL Server to Windows Clusters, on-premises virtual machines and Azure virtual machines
• SQL Server Backups and Restores
• Help plan and execute application database changes
• Configuration of new Transactional Replication, and new Service Broker queues
• Alerting for SQL Server Infrastructure
• Participating in an out of hours Standby Rota
• Database Security
• Mentoring other DBAs and Application Support Analysts.
