Senior Database Administrator (SQL Server On-prem & Azure, Oracle) Location: Houston, TX or Remote Work (CST support hours, 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM CST) Rate Cap: $60/Hr. (on W2) Position Overview: Highly skilled Senior Database Administrator (DBA) with deep expertise in SQL Server and Azure database and familiarity with Oracle Database technologies. This role requires a strong technical leader capable of driving complex issue resolution, supporting mission‑critical systems, and serving as a backup technical lead when needed. The ideal candidate has 5–7 years of hands‑on SQL Server and Azure experience, along with the ability to operate independently in a fast‑paced environment. SQL Server (Advanced) • 5–7 years of hands‑on SQL Server experience • Expertise in T‑SQL, query optimization, indexing strategies, execution plans, and performance tuning • Solid understanding of SQL Server architecture, security, backups, high availability (HA), and disaster recovery (DR) Azure SQL / Cloud Database Experience • 5–7 years of Azure database experience, including deployment, configuration, performance monitoring, and security best practices • Experience supporting cloud‑based data solutions and integrating with on‑prem systems Oracle Database (Beginner to Intermediate) • Basic understanding of Oracle database structure and administration • Ability to perform foundational troubleshooting and operational support Nice to Have • Basic Linux/Unix experience, including command line navigation and simple administrative scripting Consultant Profile Expectations • Operates at a senior consultant level with the ability to: • Lead complex troubleshooting, root‑cause analysis, and database performance investigations • Work independently while coordinating with application, infrastructure, and vendor teams • Prioritize and manage multiple issues with clear, timely communication • Recommend and drive long‑term stabilization and optimization initiatives • Ability to serve as a backup technical lead, including coordinating workstreams, guiding technical resources, and ensuring operational continuity Availability Requirement • Available to support business‑critical operations during 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM CST
