Groupe Marcelle is seeking a Specialist, Technology Transfer for a permanent full-time role. Reporting to the Director, Product Management, the incumbent will play a key role in the industrialization of cosmetic products, ensuring the seamless transfer of formulas from R&D to Production and optimizing manufacturing processes. This role acts as a critical technical bridge between R&D, Production, and Quality, ensuring robust scale up, reliable processing parameters, and smooth operational execution. An individual contributor role with significant cross-functional coordination and strong technical ownership. WORK ENVIRONMENT • Workplace: 9200, Côte-de-Liesse Road, Montreal, Quebec Monday to Friday on-site presence required due to the scientific and operational nature of the role • Growing company • A dynamic team of professionals • Benefits: Competitive base salary and generous benefits package (including flexible hours, medical and dental insurance, health savings account, pension plan, telemedicine, employee assistance program, bonus, and holiday vacation) • Employee discounts on all Marcelle Group products YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE Technology Transfer & Scale-Up • Adapt laboratory procedures into robust, production-ready manufacturing processes. • Write and validate manufacturing procedures for pilot and industrial production batches. • Document and optimize process parameters, including mixing sequences, temperatures, shear conditions, production rates, etc. • Collaborate closely with formulators to ensure laboratory batches are faithful reproduced at scale while ensuring compatibility with production equipment and operational constraints. Technical Support & Troubleshooting • Provide scientific and technical support to Production, particularly during new product launches, process deviations, or manufacturing issues. • Lead batch rework strategies in collaboration with Quality and Production. • Participate in non-conformity investigations and contribute to root cause analysis and corrective actions. Process Optimization & Continuous Improvement • Identify and implement cost‑reduction opportunities (formula simplification, process optimization, yield improvement, etc.). • Lead and document lot repair procedures in collaboration with R&D, Quality, and Production • Lead batch rework strategies, determining rework recipes and processes, in collaboration with R&D, Quality and Production. • Lead the validation of second sources (raw materials, equipment, or alternative processes). • Recommend improvements to equipment or procedures to enhance efficiency, product quality, or repeatability. Cross-Functional Coordination & Technical Leadership • Serve as the primary technical liaison between R&D, Production, and Quality. • Lead weekly cross-functional technical meetings and ensure clear action tracking. • Coordinate priorities related to technology transfer, scale-up, and process validation. • Ensure that manufacturing procedures and other technical documents related to manufacturing processes and equipment are kept up to date. WE WOULD LIKE TO MEET YOU IF YOU HAVE • Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field • Knowledge of cosmetic formulation (strong asset) • Knowledge of GMP in cosmetics (asset) • 3–5 years of relevant experience in manufacturing, industrialization, or process engineering (cosmetics, pharma, or related industries) • Experience with manufacturing equipment such as mixers, homogenizers, heating/cooling vessels (strong asset) • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite • Knowledge of ERP systems e.g. JDE (asset) AND IF YOU ARE • Strong analytical abilities and sound scientific judgment • Project management and cross-functional coordination skills • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams. • Strong problem-solving capabilities and attention to detail. • Comfortable working in both production-floor, laboratory and office environments.
