Key Highlights: • Permanent Position • Opportunity to work with a dynamic, industry-leading company • Up to $8,000 + Shift Allowance + Bonus + comprehensive benefits package Our client is seeking a Senior Unix & Linux Systems Engineer/ Administrator to manage and maintain enterprise Unix and Linux environments supporting critical online payment services. This role is responsible for ensuring system availability, security, performance, and resilience across production, disaster recovery, and test environments in a 24/7 operational setting. Responsibilities: • Administer and support Unix and Linux systems across production, DR, and test environments • Perform system upgrades, enhancements, hardening, and security patching • Monitor system health, performance, capacity, and infrastructure obsolescence • Manage system passwords, digital certificates, and access controls • Implement and maintain system backups and database archive operations to ensure recoverability and business continuity • Develop, execute, and test disaster recovery plans, including regular DR exercises and system switchovers • Manage and maintain User Acceptance Test (UAT) environments to support application testing • Provide second- and third-level system support and resolve incidents and problems within defined SLAs • Perform root cause analysis and implement preventive measures to reduce recurring issues • Plan, schedule, and implement system changes and releases in accordance with change management processes • Create and manage deployment packages for application and system changes • Maintain accurate configuration records and system documentation • Perform capacity planning and performance tuning to optimise system stability and efficiency • Support infrastructure and system requirements for projects and enhancements • Participate in 24/7 rostered shift support. Requirements: • Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline • Minimum 6 years of hands-on experience in Unix and Linux system administration in enterprise environments • Strong experience with Sun Solaris and Linux-based platforms • Hands-on experience with OS hardening, security patching, and vulnerability remediation • Experience working with SAN storage, enterprise backup, and system monitoring tools • Proficiency in Unix/Linux scripting for automation and operational efficiency • Familiarity with middleware platforms, database administration, and data centre operations is an advantage • Experience supporting 24/7 mission-critical systems in a rostered environment • Exposure to public cloud administration and hybrid infrastructure environments is preferred • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team • Resilient, adaptable, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment • Customer-focused mindset with strong ownership and accountability • Unix/Linux System Administrator certifications and public cloud certifications are preferred Interested applicants, please submit updated resume in MS format via the Apply button.
