Ashby is seeking a versatile, persistent product engineer who is not afraid to set up reusable building blocks across the stack and advocate for the time and space to do so. We ship features end‑to‑end at a high pace, building product specs, designing wireframes, and delivering code that powers tens of thousands of daily users while maintaining an almost‑no‑meeting culture.
Responsibilities
Designed and built automated interview scheduling, automating the calculation of possible times from interviewers and constraints to present candidates with selectable time slots via a responsive web app.
Built a generalized declarative filter architecture that allows users to create complex filters for any record, compiling them to SQL in the backend, and is used across many user‑facing features.
Specced, designed, and implemented a feature that enables users to complete signing offers entirely within Ashby, coordinating closely with customers and integrating the final implementation into additional features.
Qualifications
Comfortable tackling any part of a technology stack, from frontend to infrastructure, with a proactive attitude toward building solutions.
Experience delivering on complex, ambiguous product and technical challenges that require building powerful abstractions.
Balanced focus on speed and quality, capable of delivering high‑quality code under tight timelines.
Strong collaborator and communicator, keeping stakeholders informed and working with engineers to ship projects.
Willingness to create leverage through automation and abstraction, improving internal tooling and processes.
