We are partnering with Sony Pictures Entertainment to fill a Senior QA Analyst position. This will play a key role in ensuring the quality of technology platforms and entertainment services. This role contributes to both manual and automated testing across multiple parallel development projects, spanning front-end, back-end, and platform integrations.
As a senior team member, the Senior QA Analyst partners closely with Product, Engineering, and Customer Support to help define quality standards, execute testing strategies, and ensure delivery goals are met on time, within budget, and with high quality.
This will be a hybrid setup (Onsite - Mondays to Thursdays / Remote - Fridays) and will report directly to Sony regarding the project.
Key Responsibilities:
Quality Planning & Execution
o Participate in early discussions and scope definition for new functionalities and features to ensure quality is built in from the start.
o Analyze requirements, use cases, and edge cases to create comprehensive test plans and test cases.
o Write and execute detailed workflow, functional, and regression test cases.
o Perform exploratory testing to identify usability, integration, and stability issues.
o Conduct testing across multiple platforms, devices, operating systems, and environments.
Test Automation
o Contribute to the design, creation, execution, and maintenance of automated test cases for key workflows and regression coverage.
o Identify appropriate opportunities to enhance test coverage through automation and identify proper tools to be used.
o Review automation results, analyze failures, and collaborate with engineers to resolve issues.
o Support continuous testing efforts within Agile development cycles.
Defect Management & Collaboration:
o Log, track, and triage defects with clear documentation, evidence, and reproduction steps.
o Prioritize issues based on severity, impact, and release timelines.
o Work with offshore automation and manual testing teams for testing coverage and best output
o Reproduce and validate issues reported by internal teams or customers.
o Escalate critical defects, blockers, and quality risks to Management.
o Report test progress, quality status, and defect trends to stakeholders.
Delivery & Support
o Ensure timely delivery of project milestones while safeguarding overall product quality.
o Assist Customer Service teams in validating reported issues and confirming fixes.
o Help maintain stable, high-quality services in production.
Qualifications:
· Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.
· Strong communication, organizational, time-management, and interpersonal skills.
· 5+ years of software QA experience, including both manual and automated testing.
· Hands-on experience executing and maintaining automated tests; framework development experience is a plus.
· Familiarity with common QA tools and defect tracking systems JIRA, and Confluence etc.
· Solid understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
· Experience in entertainment, streaming, or consumer-facing platforms preferred.
· Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience
Job Work Set up:
• Hybrid (Office Location: Culver City, CA): Onsite - Mondays to Thursdays / Remote - Fridays
• 40 work hours/week
• Full-Time Position with Benefits - Includes Medical, Dental, and Vision coverage through HMO available after 90 days of employment
