The Senior Engineer for Cybersecurity Architecture will spearhead technology-driven initiatives across the Information Security organization and the broader enterprise. You will collaborate with stakeholders across the enterprise to ensure the secure operation of our technology infrastructure and act as a technical authority on cloud and product security architecture.

• Define and lead the technical roadmap for Endpoint Security, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), and Cryptography Services.

• Identify opportunities to create custom software solutions that enhance cybersecurity.
• Engage with the broader Distinguished Engineer community to ensure seamless integration of security tools into the software development process.
• Establish frameworks for evaluating and uplifting our engineering maturity, while supporting the growth and development of junior talent through both formal and informal mentorship.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's Degree
• At least 7 years of experience in software engineering and solution architecture.
• At least 3 years of experience with cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud).
Preferred Qualifications:
• Master's Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in software engineering and solution architecture.
• 10+ years of professional experience throughout the full lifecycle of system development, from conception through architecture, implementation, testing, deployment, and production support.
• 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity.
• 3+ years of experience with AWS cloud security services.
• 3+ years of experience with financial service compliance regulations.
• CISSP or SANS certifications.
• 3+ years of experience designing and implementing enterprise-grade security solutions from open source projects.
• 3+ years of experience creating fully automated security solutions within a DevOps environment.

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based on the agreed number of hours to be regularly worked.

McLean, VA: $269,100 - $307,200
Plano, TX: $244,700 - $279,200

San Francisco, CA: $293,600 - $335,100
San Jose, CA: $293,600 - $335,100
Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate's offer letter.
This role is also eligible for performance-based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonuses and/or long-term incentives. These incentives could be discretionary or non-discretionary, depending on the plan.
