In this role, you will work closely with the Data Protection and Endpoint Security teams to chart the long-term technical strategy for these initiatives. You will architect and create custom software solutions that enhance our cybersecurity capabilities and seamlessly integrate security requirements into our software development lifecycle. Key Responsibilities: • Articulate and promote an ambitious technical vision for your area. • Break complex challenges into practical, actionable solutions. • Ensure high-quality technical design and implementation. • Serve as an authoritative source on performance, scalability, and operability of systems. • Continuously learn and share advanced technical knowledge within the community. • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, maximizing overall impact. • Act as a role model and mentor, enhancing the technical acumen of our engineering and product community. • Lead the technical roadmap for our Endpoint Security, Data Loss Prevention, and Cryptography Services. • Innovate to automate manual processes in these programs to promote operational efficiency and stability. • Explore the development of custom software solutions in the cybersecurity domain. • Collaborate with the wider Distinguished Engineer community to ensure the integration of security tools into software development. • Establish frameworks for assessing engineering maturity and support the development of junior talent through mentorship. Basic Qualifications: • Bachelor's Degree • At least 7 years of software engineering experience • At least 3 years of experience in public or private cloud technologies Preferred Qualifications: • Master's Degree in Computer Science or a related field • 10+ years of software engineering experience • 10+ years of professional coding experience in languages like Java, Python, Go, etc. • 10+ years of experience in the complete system development lifecycle, including conception, architecture, implementation, testing, deployment, and production support • 3+ years of experience with AWS cloud infrastructure services • 3+ years of experience in cybersecurity • 2+ years of experience in data science, machine learning, or artificial intelligence Capital One is willing to consider sponsoring a qualified applicant for employment authorization for this position.
