Role Overview
The Senior Azure Cloud Engineer will be responsible for the design, support, security, availability, and compliance of Azure-based infrastructure. The engineer will work closely with the client’s Infrastructure and Security teams to ensure high availability, performance, and adherence to regulatory and organizational standards.
Required Experience
• Minimum 3+ years of dedicated hands-on experience supporting Microsoft Azure infrastructure
• Strong experience in managing production-grade, secure, and highly available cloud environments
Mandatory Certifications
Preferred / Role-Based Certifications
• Microsoft Certified: Azure DevOps Engineer Expert (At least one engineer in the team)
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate (At least one engineer in the team)
Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure Operations & Support
• Support the client’s Infrastructure and Security teams in all related activities
• Perform L1 and L2 troubleshooting and issue resolution in line with internal SLAs
• Log, manage, and resolve incidents and service requests via the agreed Help Desk/Ticketing system
• Periodically review tickets to identify recurring issues and implement root cause fixes
Maintenance & Availability
• Execute timely preventive maintenance tasks
• Monitor system performance and take proactive actions to maintain 99.99% system availability
• Manage backup and recovery operations, including monthly restore and recovery tests
• Conduct one successful Disaster Recovery (DR) test per quarter
Security & Compliance
• Perform periodic security vulnerability assessments
• Patch and remediate vulnerabilities to maintain a security score of 5 as per the DESC SLA document (DCI NEW CARDS.pdf)
• Provide monthly security and compliance reports
• Conduct security monitoring and key management
• Execute incident response and security troubleshooting
• Conduct at least one penetration test, ensuring all findings are remediated and closed
• Support DESC and DDA-related requirements
• Implement findings from internal and external audits to ensure compliance
• Maintain system compliance with client, DESC, and DDA policies and procedures
• Provide all required compliance documentation and audit evidence
Cost & Optimization
• Perform Azure infrastructure cost monitoring and reporting
• Recommend and implement cost optimization strategies
• Restructure or rebuild Azure infrastructure when required
• Maintain and update infrastructure architecture and operational documentation
• Ensure documentation is audit-ready and up to date
