This very rewarding position ensures the safety of students and pedestrians during designated periods throughout the school day. Position: School Crossing Guard Site: Huron Heights, Cheapside area Status: Casual/On-Call Shifts: Monday- Friday Hours: Pay Rate: $20/hr Overtime Method: Averaging Agreement - calculation after 88 hours bi-weekly Posting Date: December 8th, 2025 Internal Closing Date: December 12th, 2025 External Closing Date: December 31st, 2025 Responsibilities: • Safely guide children across designated crosswalks during specific times of the school day • Monitor traffic flow and adhere to safety protocols • Communicate effectively with children, parents and motorists to ensure safety • Reporting safety concerns or incidents promptly • Provide a visible, reassuring and vigilant presence to ensure safety Requirements: • Provide a Negative London Police Vulnerable Sector Check • Provide Normal Audiology and Optometrist/Ophthalmologist Testing • The ability to stand for extended periods of time • Able to work outdoors in all types of weather • Must be reliable and punctual • Must be flexible and available on an On Call basis • Have the ability to remain calm and focused in potentially stressful situations • Customer Service experience is an asset • Experience interacting with youth and children is an asset • Experience with community-based role(s) is an asset • Access to a vehicle is an asset • Legally authorized to work in Canada Working Hours: • 2-3 hours per day (15 hours per week) • 1 hour shifts up to 3 times a day • Morning shifts between 7:30am and 9:30am depending on location • Lunch shifts between 10:30am and 2:00pm depending on location • After School shifts between 2:30pm and 4:30pm depending on location Why Choose Paladin: • Professional development and ongoing training opportunities • Competitive salary and benefits • Daily pay available – work today, get paid today • Free uniforms and security license reimbursement • Dry cleaning and tailoring allowance • Paid vacation and sick days
