Position Objectives
• Ensure mechanical installations, including cooling systems, DC plant, piping, containment, and related works in data centres meet specifications, drawings, and standards.
• Verify pressure testing, system integrity, and TAB (Testing, Adjusting, Balancing) readiness while identifying defects early.
• Support punch lists, final inspections, and handover for reliable cooling and mechanical infrastructure.
• Maintain site quality for a safe, efficient, and high-performance data centre environment.
Job Description and Responsibilities
• Inspect chilled water piping, AHUs, CRACs, cooling towers, containment aisles, ductwork, and mechanical plant daily.
• Verify compliance with IFC drawings, specifications, P&IDs, ITPs, and checklists.
• Witness pressure tests (hydrostatic/pneumatic), leak tests, flushing, chemical cleaning, and system integrity checks.
• Raise/track NCRs and follow up on corrective actions.
• Check piping supports, insulation, labelling, valve installation, and containment integrity.
• Support TAB preparation, verify instrumentation, and witness balancing readiness.
• Prepare punch lists, conduct snagging, verify rectifications, and assistwith handover inspections.
Qualification and Required Skills
• Diploma or Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 2–4 years site QA/QC experience in mechanical/HVAC/piping works (data centre preferred).
• Knowledge of chilled water systems, piping installation, pressure testing, insulation, containment, and TAB processes.
• Familiar with standards such as ASHRAE, ASME B31.9, SMACNA, NFPA, and local mechanical codes.
• Able to read P&IDs, isometric drawings, specifications, method statements, and ITPs.
• Skilled with pressure testing equipment, measuring tools, and accurate documentation.
• Strong attention to detail and site communication.
• Preferred: Mechanical QC certification, relevant testing/TAB training, ISO 9001 awareness.
