Responsibilities:
• Inspect, verify, and document all construction materials delivered to the site
• Ensure materials comply with approved specifications, standards, and project requirements
• Monitor material handling, storage, and preservation on-site to prevent damage or deterioration
• Review material submittals, certificates, and test reports submitted by contractors
• Conduct sampling and testing of materials (e.g., concrete, asphalt, aggregates, steel) in coordination with the laboratory
• Report non-compliance or defective materials and coordinate corrective actions with contractors
• Maintain an organized record of inspections, approvals, and material certificates
• Ensure proper labeling, tagging, and tracking of materials used in the project
• Coordinate with design, planning, and site teams to resolve material-related issues
• Support quality assurance and control procedures for the project
• Prepare and submit daily/weekly material inspection reports to PMC management
• Participate in client inspections and audits regarding material compliance
• Verify contractors follow proper testing, mixing, and handling procedures
• Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety standards during material handling
• Assist in preparation of as-built material documentation for project closeout
• Provide guidance to junior material inspectors and site staff
• Liaise with vendors and suppliers for technical clarifications on materials
• Review and verify calibration and certification of testing equipment
Essential Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Materials Engineering, or related field
• Minimum 7 years of experience as a Material Inspector, preferably on road and infrastructure projects
• Prior experience with PMC, consultancy, or large-scale construction projects is highly preferred
• Strong knowledge of construction materials, standards, and testing procedures
• Familiarity with project specifications, QA/QC procedures, and reporting requirements
• Excellent report writing, documentation, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently on-site and in a multi-disciplinary team
