About the role We're seeking a QA Analyst to ensure our web/mobile/API products meet a high bar for reliability, usability, and performance through strong testing practices. You will design test strategies, create and execute test cases, and collaborate closely with Product, Development, and Project Management. Candidates with deeper experience in leading test strategy, incident management, and mentoring will be considered for Senior QA Analyst (Test Lead Level). What you'll do: 1) Test strategy and planning • Analyze requirements and acceptance criteria; create risk-based test plans and test scenarios. • Translate user stories into comprehensive test cases covering functional, integration, regression, and edge cases. • Define test data needs 2) Test execution and reporting • Execute manual tests for web, mobile, and APIs • Document results with clear steps, evidence (screenshots/logs), and expected vs actual outcomes. • Track test progress, coverage, and release readiness; prepare concise quality reports. 3) Defect and incident management • Log, triage, and prioritize defects with high-quality details and severity/impact assessment. • Participate in root cause analysis and verify fixes; contribute to prevention actions. • Support incident response by reproducing issues, assessing user impact, and validating hotfixes. 4) Collaboration and quality advocacy • Partner with the Product and Development team to clarify requirements, improve testability, and define acceptance criteria. • Contribute to definition of done, quality gates, and regression checklists. • Maintain clear testing documentation, checklists, and release notes. What we're looking for: 1) Experience • 4+ years in software testing with strong manual testing experience. More experience may qualify for Senior. • Familiarity with API testing using tools such as Postman, SoapUI. • Comfort with basic SQL for data validation and with reading application logs. 2) Skills • Excellent test design and risk-based prioritization. • Strong defect reporting with reproducible steps and clear impact statements. • Actively involved in defect triaging meeting • Precise, self-motivated, organized; able to thrive in a fast-paced environment. • Good communication skills in English, Mandarin and Cantonese. Nice to Have: • Exposure to automation concepts (e.g., Selenium, Appium, Playwright) for collaboration with SDETs. • Basic performance testing knowledge (e.g., JMeter, k6, locust) • Experience with CI/CD awareness to understand build health and test readiness. • Familiarity with version control (Git) to pull logs or review changes What we offer At Virtual Gaming Technology Limited, we are committed to supporting our employees' professional and personal growth.
