The QA Analyst will be responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of applications, data systems, and processes that support shipbuilding and manufacturing operations. This role involves developing and executing test plans, identifying defects, validating system functionality. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and experienced in testing complex industrial workflows and integrated systems.
Note: This position qualifies for an optional hybrid work schedule after 90 days of onsite work and onboarding. Employees will be subject to the terms of the Flexible Work Policy Agreement.
What you'll do
• Develop, execute, and maintain test cases, test scripts, and test plans for all our major Applications.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, and user-acceptance testing for systems such as Oracle, PLM/CAD integrations, production scheduling, and quality control applications.
• Collaborate with engineering, production, IT, and software development teams to understand requirements and translate them into effective testing procedures
• Identify, document, and track defects; validate fixes; and ensure resolution meets quality standards.
• Review business and technical specifications to ensure test coverage aligns with operational workflows, engineering processes, and production requirements.
• Validate data accuracy, data transformations, and system outputs for applications handling engineering drawings, manufacturing instructions, BOMs, and work orders.
• Support testing of system integrations across applications such as Oracle, PLM and CAD systems.
• Maintain testing documentation, including test reports, traceability matrices, and compliance records.
• Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance testing efficiency, consistency, and coverage.
• Assist in developing automated tests for repetitive or critical processes (when applicable).
• Ensure testing activities align with industry standards, quality requirements, and organizational best practices.
• Provide QA support during system rollouts, upgrades, and change-control processes.
What you'll bring
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Quality Assurance, or a related discipline.
• 2–5 years of experience as a QA Analyst, preferably in manufacturing, industrial engineering, aerospace, or shipbuilding sectors.
• Experience working with industrial or engineering systems (ERP, PLM, CAD integrations) is strongly preferred.
• Certifications such as Certified Quality Analyst (CQA)
• Lean Six Sigma Yellow/Green Belt (asset)
• Experience with manual testing; automation testing experience is a plus.
• Familiarity with structured change-control environments (ITIL or equivalent) is an advantage.
• Understanding of data integrity, version control, and quality standards as used in manufacturing and engineering environments.
• Strong understanding of QA methodologies, testing practices, and defect management processes.
• Experience testing applications used in manufacturing, engineering, and/or shipbuilding operations (Oracle, PLM, CAD/CAM interfaces).
• Ability to interpret technical documentation such as engineering workflows, system requirements, process diagrams, and data specifications.
• Familiarity with industrial processes such as engineering, production planning, work order management, BOM structuring, supply chain operations, and inventory control.
• Working knowledge of SQL for validating test data, queries, and back-end system outputs.
• Experience with DevOps as a test management and defect tracking tool.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams including engineering, manufacturing, IT, and software vendors.
• Excellent communication skills for documenting findings, test results, and QA summaries.
• Knowledge of test automation tools is an asset, though not always required

The estimated salary for this position is $84,600 - $103,400. In determining final salary, Seaspan considers many factors including the successful Candidate's skillset and experience as well as position location and internal equity. The final base salary offer will be at the Company's sole discretion and presented as part of a competitive total compensation package.
