The Opportunity $22M revenue. Profitable. Bootstrapped. 20 people doing what competitors need 200 for. Every AI assistant is trained to close the deal—to be the realtor. We built the home inspector. Product.ai tells you what NOT to buy, and we're the only ones who can. We are Product.ai—the company building the verification layer for AI commerce. You may know us as Demand.io, the founder-led team behind SimplyCodes—the leading AI-powered savings tool driving $1B+ in annual commerce. In early 2026, we complete our transformation and formally become Product.ai. What we're building: Product.ai is a recommendation engine that doesn't guess—it verifies. We ingest product data, marketing claims, and real user feedback, then use adversarial AI to expose hidden flaws and surface the products that actually deliver. Think "Consumer Reports meets ChatGPT"—but with receipts. Why we're different: Perplexity summarizes the web—including the lies. ChatGPT is trained to be agreeable—it hedges. Google ranks by ads. We pre-verify claims through adversarial pressure testing and deliver the confident "No" that no other AI can. (Read the thesis). We are seeking a Product Architect to define what the world's first verification engine looks like as a product. This is not a standard PM role—you will own category creation: the interface paradigm for verified intelligence, the agent protocol for third-party AI consumption, and the consumer experience that makes truth tangible. The Inflection: In 2026, users will not "search" for products—they will ask an AI. The agent must answer with deterministic certainty, not probabilistic guessing. Who verifies the truth? Who do you trust when the AI is the interface? Product.ai. What You Will Build • The Verification Interface: Define the UI paradigm for verified intelligence. How do you visualize "proof" without overwhelming the user? How do you make reasoning transparent without making it tedious? The user must see WHY we made the recommendation. The user must trust that revenue did not corrupt the ranking. • The Unbiased Ranking Architecture: We monetize via affiliate commission. You will architect the separation between the Ranking Engine (structurally blind to commission rates) and the Routing Layer (which captures value). The user must be able to audit that the separation held. • The Agent Protocol (VaaS): Our "user" is increasingly an AI agent. You will architect Verification-as-a-Service—structured data (JSON-LD, MCP Tools) with confidence scores and evidence traces. Product.ai becomes the "Intel Inside" for agent commerce. • The Cold Start Architecture: When a user asks about a niche category with no existing verified data, what happens? You will design the fallback system—real-time adversarial verification or graceful degradation with honesty. • The Disqualification UX: Our highest-value moment is telling a user what NOT to buy. You will design the moment we say "Don't buy this, here's why" and the user believes us. The confident "No" is more valuable than the uncertain "Yes." What You Will Own • Product.ai Agent (Web/Mobile): Define the 1.0 consumer experience. What does verified shopping intelligence look like? • Product.ai API (VaaS): Architect Verification-as-a-Service. How do third-party agents consume verified intelligence? • SimplyCodes ChatGPT App: Own the agent-native strategy. MCP tools, citation accuracy, transaction execution. • SimplyCodes Commerce Pages: Own the SEO/AEO strategy. How do we win when the search result is an AI summary? • Authority: You are not a Product Manager. You do not write tickets for engineers to execute. You define the logic, prototype the interface, and spec the system. You have founder-level authority. You ship. The primary metric is deployed features, not documents. Relationships: • Reports to: CEO (direct line, strategic partner) • Partners with: Chief Architect, VP Architecture & Systems, VP GTM • Builds: 1-2 Senior Product Engineers who share your DNA Who You Are We do not care about your pedigree; we care about your mechanics. • You are a builder. You prototype in code before writing specs. You debate implementation details with engineers because you understand the trade-offs. When we ask "Show me something you built in the last 6 months," you have an answer. • You are a first-principles thinker. You deconstruct problems to their mechanics before reaching for frameworks. You distrust "best practices" that lack underlying reasoning. You do not reason by analogy ("Uber for X"). • You have founder mentality. You have started something—company, product, movement—or operate as if you had. You do not wait for permission. You do not wait for consensus. • You have technical depth. You can query the database to validate your own hypotheses. You understand LLM latency, context windows, and system architecture. You can walk through how you would debug a 2-second latency spike in an LLM call. • You are viscerally bothered by bullshit. You want to build something that actually works, not something that looks good in a pitch deck. You care about whether the recommendation was correct, not whether the user clicked. Required Experience: • 10+ years building product • Has built a product from scratch where survival was the metric • Can read code, write SQL, prototype in Figma + basic frontend • Has shipped at least one LLM-powered product feature to production • Has built for end-users (not just enterprise B2B) Strong Signals: • Former founder • Ex-Anthropic / OpenAI / Perplexity • Failed startup (has tasted failure, no longer naive about "hard") • E-commerce or fintech background • Epistemology, journalism, or research background Do not apply if: • "I write PRDs and hand them to engineering" • "I manage the roadmap and prioritize the backlog" • "I align stakeholders across the organization" • "I'll ask the engineers to pull the data" • Your career is a ladder of title jumps with no shipped products Compensation & Ownership We operate as a high-performance studio, not a typical corporation. We share the upside directly with our builders via direct ownership. • Elite Base Salary: $450,000 – $650,000. We target the 99th percentile of market base pay to ensure you are focused on the mission, not your mortgage. Your base covers your life; your equity builds your freedom. • Profits Interest Units (PIUs): You will receive a formal equity stake via Class B Membership Interests. Unlike Stock Options, PIUs have a $0 strike price, participate in the upside from day one, and qualify for Capital Gains tax treatment, maximizing your long-term wealth. • Ongoing Profit Distribution: As an equity holder, you participate in our annual success. You are entitled to a pro-rata share of our Free Cash Flow (FCF)—receiving your portion of the company's profit as an annual dividend. • Annual Liquidity: We do not believe in "Paper Wealth." We operate an Annual Tender Offer where the company buys back vested interests. You have the option to turn your ownership into cash every year—you don't have to wait for an exit. • Benefits: 100% premium coverage for you and your family, daily catered lunches, and unlimited PTO that we actually expect you to use to recharge. How to Apply We don't use cover letters or ATS keyword bots. We measure logic, not keywords. The Process: • The Input: Instead of scheduling a 30-minute phone screen, you will answer 8 short questions via video (async). • The Context: These are high-signal prompts designed to assess your culture fit and thought process. No rehearsal is required. We value clear thinking over production value. • The Trade: If your signal is clear, you skip the generic recruiter screen and move straight to a peer-level conversation with the team. We're not looking for polished presentations. We're looking for signal on who you are.
