Procurement Specialist
Budget: HK$30,000 - 40,000 per month + DB
Location: Tsuen Wan
Monday - Friday (9am-6pm)
Our client is a US semiconductor trading organisation who are setting up a new office in Hong Kong, the Procurement Specialist is the critical hire for the company, that will lead the pathway to the growth and development of the office.
Key Responsibilities
• Forge and nurture strategic partnerships with trusted suppliers and inventory sources for electronic components, encompassing manufacturers, authorized distributors, and independent vendors.
• Drive component sourcing to fulfill dynamic sales demands in high-growth markets, including AI servers, data centers, advanced computing, industrial applications, and innovative consumer electronics.
• Conduct insightful market research on component availability, pricing trends, lead times, and product lifecycle statuses (EOL / NRND) to stay ahead of industry developments.
• Proactively engage with suppliers through calls, emails, and industry platforms, obtaining competitive quotes and securing robust supply chains.
• Manage high-volume RFQs and outbound sourcing initiatives with a focus on allocated and hard-to-find components, contributing to the company's competitive edge.
• Negotiate favorable terms for pricing, delivery schedules, minimum order quantities, and payment conditions, optimizing cost efficiency and maximizing gross margins.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, quality assurance, logistics, and finance, to ensure precision in order fulfillment and timely delivery.
• Champion supplier compliance with company standards, ensuring adherence to documentation, traceability, and packaging requirements for a seamless supply chain.
• Support innovative inventory management initiatives, addressing excess and slow-moving stock to enhance operational efficiency.
• Participate in exciting ad hoc procurement and supply chain projects, driving continuous improvement and contributing to the company's success
Requirements
• Degree educated ideally in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 3+ years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or buying within the electronic components / semiconductor industry preferred.
• Strong understanding of electronic components, market dynamics, and supply chain operations.
• Proficient in MS Excel and ERP systems
• Strong negotiation skills
• Excellent communication in English and Chinese
