Job Title: Platform Architect
Location: Singapore
We are partnering with a leading telecommunications customer to hire a Platform Architect . The role will be responsible for defining and governing the end-to-end technical architecture infrastructure, CI/CD, cloud foundations, observability, and developer experience patterns used by all IS (Information Services) applications across the telco. This role exists to simplify technology choices, enforce compliance-by-design (IMDA, PDPA, CSA, MAS-TRM), and accelerate cloud migration from legacy on-prem systems to AWS. The architect ensures the platform isscalable, secure, cost-efficient, and supports future evolution includingBackstage, AI/ML observability, and self-service developer workflows.
Responsibilities:
1. Design and update standard architectural patterns, IaC blueprints, CI/CD templates, and paved-road workflows.
2. Evaluate and approve tools (CI/CD, monitoring, logging, IDE, testing frameworks, security tooling).
3. Provide architectural guidance to Shared Services engineers - CI/CD, scaffolding, SCM, observability, developers.
4. Lead cloud modernization patterns including microservices, containerization, API gateways, and modernization guidelines.
5. Document architecture principles, guardrails, RFCs, and ensure all applications follow approved patterns.
6. Individual contributor role with influence across multiple SharedServices towers; indirectly guides CI/CD, scaffolding, SCM, observability, QA, and developer resources.
Requirements:
1. 10–15 years in enterprise architecture, platformengineering, cloud architecture, or DevOps in large-scale tech or telcoenvironments. Experience designing platforms supporting >50microservices or multi-team engineering organizations.
2. Skills:
· Strong expertise in AWS (EKS, RDS, ElastiCache, CloudWatch, IAM, VPC).
· Strong understanding of CI/CD, IaC (Terraform), CaC (Configurationas Code), GitOps, container orchestration, cloud networking.
· Experience with internal developer platforms (Backstage, Port, OpsLevel, or similar).
· Strong security architecture understanding (IAM, secrets, compliance, audit, least privilege).
· Certifications preferred: AWS Solutions ArchitectProfessional, CKA/CKAD, TOGAF (optional).
· Architected cloud migrations for legacy apps →container-based, cloud-native, or microservices platforms
· Led cross-team initiatives (10+ stakeholders) andinfluenced senior engineering teams without direct authority.
