MindBridge is seeking a Platform Architect to lead the evolution of our AI/ML financial intelligence platform.
This senior IC role will own platform architecture and technical direction, ensuring scalability and long-term sustainability as we expand toward an end-to-end, agentic AI-enabled insights platform for enterprise customers.
You'll partner closely across Product, Engineering, and customer-facing teams, provide architectural leadership, and contribute hands-on through prototypes and reference implementations that improve platform quality, velocity, and customer outcomes.
What You Will Do
Platform & Architectural Leadership
Define and own the end-to-end platform architecture aligned with product and business strategy.
Establish architectural principles, standards, and reference architectures.
Apply enterprise architecture practices to keep platform investments aligned with the product portfolio and enterprise customer needs.
Validate architecture through hands on spikes and prototypes; turn decisions into working reference implementations and templates teams can adopt.
Ensure consistency and interoperability across platform services, domains, and teams.
Define performance and scalability goals and ensure platform architectures meet them as usage and data volumes grow.
Own platform level abstractions, shared services, contracts, and APIs.
Define and evolve enterprise security architecture across the platform (identity, authentication/authorization, permission models, tenancy boundaries, auditability).
Strategic Technical Direction
Translate platform vision into a pragmatic, multi-phase architectural roadmap.
Anticipate future needs related to scale, performance, extensibility, data flow, and integrations.
Balance short term delivery needs with long term platform health and maintainability.
Balance priorities across multiple product lines and the shared platform, prioritizing reusable, sustainable platform capabilities over one-off product-line-specific features.
Ensure architectural choices optimize for enterprise customer outcomes (adoption, operability, integration fit, and cost to serve).
Evaluate and guide major build vs buy and technology selection decisions.
Decision Making & Governance
Lead architectural decision making for cross team and long-term impact changes via ADRs.
Review proposals and identify unacceptable long-term risk, operational burden, or hidden complexity.
Define clear decision criteria (security, reliability, operability, performance, maintainability, developer experience).
Drive alignment; when consensus cannot be reached, facilitate escalation to Engineering Leadership with clear tradeoffs.
Ensure architectural decisions are documented, discoverable, and revisited when assumptions change.
Data & Insights Architecture
Define architecture for large scale data ingestion, processing, and analytics; ensure it is scalable, reliable, and extensible.
Guide the evolution from transactional level analytics to specialized and contextualized insights.
Architect systems that support continuous data flows and insight generation, including ML and agentic AI driven components.
Partner with teams on early domain modeling (core object model, schemas, and boundaries) to ensure the platform and product semantics are coherent and evolvable.
Engineering Enablement
Act as a force multiplier for engineering teams through guidance, patterns, and reusable solutions.
Mentor senior engineers and technical leads on architectural thinking and design tradeoffs.
Prioritize developer experience when designing internal platforms and shared services.
Help teams ship quickly with high quality by enabling strong engineering execution practices (agile delivery, CI/CD, automated testing, safe releases, and fast feedback loops).
Pair with teams on early infrastructure and system design when needed (bootstrapping core services, shared libraries, domain primitives, and integration patterns).
Help troubleshoot complex issues spanning services, data pipelines, and infrastructure, drive root cause analysis and pragmatic fixes.
Cross Functional Collaboration
Partner closely with Product Management, UX/Design, Data Science, and Engineering leadership to clarify requirements early, participate in discovery/design, and align on platform implications.
Coordinate with Implementation/Professional Services and Sales to understand enterprise constraints, integration realities and risks.
Engage directly with customers (e.g., discovery, escalations, roadmap conversations) when needed to validate architectural assumptions and tradeoffs.
Communicate architectural direction and progress to senior leadership and stakeholders.
What You Bring
10+ years of professional software engineering experience, including senior level technical leadership.
Proven experience designing and evolving large scale, distributed, or platform-based systems.
Demonstrated enterprise architecture experience in a product led context (connecting business capabilities, product strategy, and technical architecture, defining target architectures and transition roadmaps).
Demonstrated product and customer orientation:
ability to translate customer problems, constraints, and feedback into platform architecture decisions and clear engineering tradeoffs.
Experience designing and implementing agentic/AI systems in production (e.g., LLM based agents, tool/function orchestration, retrieval, workflows), including evaluation, monitoring, and guardrails.
Demonstrated hands on implementation experience:
shipping production systems, building prototypes/spikes to validate architectural choices, and delivering reference implementations that teams adopt.
Experience working in agile product delivery environments, with a track record of shipping iteratively and balancing speed with quality.
Experience with CI/CD and release engineering practices that support frequent delivery (build pipelines, automated tests, quality gates, and safe rollout patterns).
Strong troubleshooting and systems thinking skills across application, data, and infrastructure layers (ability to guide teams from symptom to root cause → fix).
Experience designing enterprise security and governance into platforms, including identity/IAM integrations, permission models, audit logging, and secure by default patterns.
Strong expertise in:
Platform engineering and best practices.
Cloud and SaaS native architectures.
Designing high performance and data intensive systems (analytics, ETL/ELT, streaming)
Communicating technical decisions via written ADRs and diagrams.
Ability to influence and lead across teams without direct authority.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience as an architect or senior technical leader.
Experience with multi-tenant SaaS platforms.
Experience modernizing or evolving an existing platform at scale.
Exposure to enterprise or regulated environments (security, compliance, data residency, and procurement constraints).
Experience working with enterprise customers on integrations, rollout planning, and production operations.
Experience designing systems where developers are primary internal users.
