In this role as an Operational Technology Cybersecurity Engineer, you'll be instrumental in protecting dynamic industrial systems that are vital to our clients' significant projects.
As a key member of our cybersecurity team, you will work throughout the Jacobs delivery lifecycle. Your responsibilities will include ensuring that designs comply with security standards, conducting thorough cybersecurity assessments, and implementing robust risk mitigation strategies to deflect the most severe cyber threats. You'll develop cybersecurity solutions aligned with NIST, NERC CIP, and other essential cybersecurity standards in ICS environments. Your understanding of large infrastructure program needs will guide the creation of cybersecurity offerings, and you will work closely with sales and operations teams to weave cybersecurity and risk reduction into existing and upcoming contracts.
Collaboration is key as you engage with SCADA instrumentation and control teams to integrate SCADA and OT with modern security architectures. You will apply your hands-on experience in ICS cybersecurity as you support design and commissioning processes for large-scale infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities:
• Support the design of OT networks to comply with established security standards.
• Conduct cybersecurity assessments of OT/ICS systems, providing analysis and actionable mitigation strategies.
• Assist in the integration of technologies such as switching, servers, firewalls, and virtual machines with adherence to security protocols.
• Perform forensic analysis of OT devices to aid in cyber incident assessments.
• Create consultative OT security solutions, including services like attack emulation, penetration testing, and threat hunting.
• Travel to various project sites to provide ICS network support and manage security platforms and other OT/IoT technologies.
• Bring 5+ years of OT/ICS security experience, including leadership in engagements.
• Utilize OT network monitoring and data collection tools effectively.
• Conduct security reviews and assessments of OT security landscapes.
• Demonstrate knowledge of DNP, Modbus, SEL, and IEC-61850 protocols.
• Work with firewalls and wireless communication technologies.
• Manage virtualization platforms, Active Directory Domain Services, and DNS.
• Understand IEC-62443 and other industrial cybersecurity standards.
• Apply knowledge of the Purdue Enterprise Reference Architecture and Zero Trust Architecture.
Preferred Qualifications:
• IAT Level II Certification (Security+, GICSP).
• Cisco CCNA, Fortinet NSE-4, JNCIA, or similar network certifications.
• Expertise in MITRE ATT&CK® and the ATT&CK for ICS Frameworks.
• Hands-on experience programming vendor HMI equipment and PLCs.
• Experience with Industrial Internet of Things and edge computing.
• Familiarity with NIST SP 800 series guidelines.
• Knowledge in implementing secure remote access solutions.
