Role Overview
The Data Platform Engineering team is looking for an experienced technical lead to manage the development of a state-of-the-art Data Platform. The platform is a key strategic BAM asset which will enable growth and scale of data onboarding, processing, and transformation. The ideal candidate will have strong software engineering skills, experience designing and architecting large enterprise distributed systems, managing people and organizing development projects.
In this role, you will:
• Develop and maintain systems and tools supporting data engineers/analysts/scientists
• Design and architect distributed data systems
• Line manage and mentor fellow developers and actively participate in code reviews
• Apply Agile methodologies to manage and coordinate development initiatives.
• Leverage AWS services for logging, monitoring, data storage, and more
• Troubleshoot time-sensitive production issues
Minimum Qualifications
• 6+ years development experience with Python
• 6+ years of experience with SQL databases
• 5+ years of experience developing distributed systems with web service and event driven architectures
• 5+ years of experience leading and/or managing a team of engineers
• 3+ years of experience with AWS development
• Strong verbal and written communications
Preferred Qualifications
• 5+ years of experience with big data systems (e.g. Snowflake, Trino, Iceberg, Data Hub, Airflow)
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a related STEM field
• Experience developing data centric systems
