Cinema Politica (CP) is seeking to hire a Network Operations Coordinator who will recruit and support the work of local chapters, coordinate network-wide events, campaigns and activities, and assist with related day-to-day operations. The Network Operations Coordinator will work closely with the Executive Director and will also be responsible for select administrative tasks. We are interested in applicants who have a specific interest and experience in membership development, community outreach, film programming, activism, media arts, and/or documentary. This position is an ideal opportunity for a recent graduate of an applicable degree or diploma program who is interested in gaining experience and contributing to the growth and development of a dedicated media arts organization committed to creativity, intersectionality, community and social justice.
This is a full-time (30-32 hours per week) contract position with a possibility of renewal. Remuneration for the position is $20 - $23 per hour based on experience and qualifications.
• *Responsibilities**:
Network Coordination
- Research, recruit and initiate new CP local organizers in diverse communities and universities across Canada and abroad.
- Support new and existing local chapters with their programming, event organization, outreach and promotion, and navigation of CP’s website and digital resources.
- Act as a primary contact for local organizers and respond to local queries in a timely fashion.
- Create toolkits, documents and support materials for local chapters, and distribute assets.
- Track membership.
- Manage film requests and liaise with programmers to ensure their fulfillment.
- Support locals with promotional activities.
- Gather and record interpretive and promotional materials for online archive.
- Gather, track and interpret data from Annual Questionnaire and prepare annual reports.
Special Projects and Partnerships
- Coordinate network-wide special projects and campaigns, and encourage and facilitate local participation.
- Connect and liaise with community and media arts partners and organizations.
- Maintain and update community partner database.
- Research and conceive of new partnership opportunities.
Administrative
- Handle select administrative and operational tasks.
- Assist with staff management.
- Assist with research, data collection and grant writing.
- Maintain an internal calendar of events and deadlines and manage meeting scheduling.
- Assist with general office upkeep and office supplies.
- Work closely with the CP team to complete time-sensitive tasks.
- Observe, review and analyze processes to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement.
Qualifications:
- A degree in Media, Film and/or Communication, Community/Organizational Development, Social work, or relevant work/volunteer experience.
- Excellent language skills in both English and French.
- Excellent writing and communication skills.
- Strong project management and organizational skills, and a talent for multi-tasking.
- Familiarity with Cinema Politica and its activities.
- Good understanding of the film industry, non-profit and media arts sectors.
- Ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Ability to work well autonomously as well as in a collaborative environment
Assets:
- Interest and knowledge in documentary, social justice issues and activism.
- Good knowledge of activist networks, student/labour unions and/or community organizations.
- Experience with Google for Non-Profits, CiviCRM and WordPress.
- Experience with managing databases.
