**Job Description / Role**:
We are currently seeking a Fire Fighting & Fire Alarm Maintenance Engineer for an exciting opportunity within a prestigious organization in Qatar. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a skilled fire safety professional to become part of an iconic team.
è **Main Responsibilities**:
• *Daily System Monitoring**: Ensure continuous monitoring of fire and life safety systems to maintain optimal functionality.
• *Supervision of Maintenance**: Oversee the maintenance of fire detection, fire protection, and life safety systems in accordance with NFPA (National Fire Protection Association) and QCDD (Qatar Civil Defence Department) standards. Manage the maintenance team effectively.
• *Report Preparation and Documentation**: Prepare reports and maintain thorough documentation related to fire and life safety system maintenance.
• *Site Management**: Manage and supervise various sites, ensuring compliance with the following requirements:
- Fire alarm systems, firefighting systems, and fire suppression systems.
- Technical premises, including electrical, heating, ventilation, and other areas with fire safety concerns.
- Ensure unobstructed automated fire doors and emergency access.
- Monitor and address the accumulation of combustible materials.
- Regularly inspect equipment and conduct scheduled rounds.
- Respond promptly to fire alarm activations.
- Utilize fire extinguishing systems, portable equipment, and standby fire-fighting vehicles to extinguish fires when necessary.
è **Key Requirements**:
- **Electrical Engineer (Graduate Level)**: Possess a four-year university degree in Electrical Engineering, along with a minimum of five years of professional experience.
- **MMUP & QCD Certification Preferred**: Holding certifications from MMUP (Qatar Municipality) and QCD (Qatar Civil Defence) is advantageous.
- **Fire Safety Expertise**: A minimum of five years of hands-on experience in inspecting, testing, and maintaining fire alarm, fire protection, and fire suppression systems.
- **Site Survey and BOQ Preparation**: Proficient in conducting site surveys and adept at preparing Bills of Quantities (BOQs).
- **Advanced Firefighting Training**: Completed an advanced firefighting course or possesses Civil Defence-approved advanced firefighting training.
- **Driving License**: Holding a valid driver's license is considered an advantage.
- **Health and Safety Credentials**: Possessing an IOSH or Nebosh HSE at work course certification is advantageous.
- **Supervisory Experience**: Has five years of experience in a supervisory role related to fire alarm and firefighting maintenance.
- **Effective Communication**: Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- **Safety Management Knowledge**: Proficient in safety management practices.
- **Technical Expertise**: Exhibits a deep understanding of fire alarm systems, sprinkler systems, gaseous suppression systems, and aspirating detection systems.
- **Fire Prevention**: Committed to fire prevention programs and strategies.
