Job Description Description Lead Systems Engineering Specialist / Engineer P54 The Lead Systems Engineering Specialist / Engineer opening is a current vacant position at General Dynamics Land Systems – Canada. The base salary hiring range for this position is $70,400 to $92,400 per year. Once in the role, successful candidates will have the opportunity to progress through the full salary range based on performance. This range reflects the base salary only and does not include additional components of our total compensation package, such as our incentive award program and other rewards like health benefits, employee profit-sharing, retirement savings, and more. Job Description The Lead Systems Engineering (LSE) Specialist / Engineer is responsible for overseeing the system and subsystem-level requirements, design, integration, and compliance assessments of our products, ensuring they meet rigorous performance, safety, and operational requirements. This role requires a deep understanding of both mechanical, electrical, tactical and weapon systems, and the ability to lead a multidisciplinary team through the entire product lifecycle from concept to technical data package release. The LSE Specialist / Engineer is responsible for the development and execution of the design engineering process as well as development of requirements work products (SPS, SSPS, PDFS, SwRS, and Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) work products). Key Job Elements Lead the development of subsystem requirements in DOORS and / or Cameo, etc. for both Production and IR&D projects; and ensure all designs comply with the subsystem specifications needs. Engage with key stakeholders to makes sure requirements are aligned with customer and stakeholder needs. Support / document requirement allocations (Size, Weight, Power, Cooling, Reliability, etc). Develop and maintain requirements traceability to both customer requirements and internal GDLS standards. Contribute to the integration of subsystems into complete vehicle systems, including support of the testing and validation processes to confirm functionality, reliability, and safety under various operational conditions. Lead Design Maturity Review (DMR) meetings for assigned subsystems and assess maturity risk levels. Support Technical Liaison between the company and clients, regulatory bodies, and subcontractors. Employ the fundamentals of MBSE and systems engineering practices. Prepare detailed technical reports, design documentation, and specifications. Ensure all project documentation is accurate and up-to-date. Support the development of the System Engineering Management Plan (SEMP) and SE Planning Activities. Contribute to the Lessons learned database for active programs with respect to systems engineering processes. Support and contribute to the subsystem design description development by working with design engineering teams. Lead Systems Engineering activities (DMRs, Gates (SRR, SFR, PDR, CDR), TPM and product deliverables (CDRLs)). Required Qualifications University Degree or College Diploma in a related field Minimum 3 years relevant experience Demonstrated ability to develop budgets and schedules Strong technical and analytical ability Product knowledge of the LAV vehicle Strong communication, organization and prioritization skills Demonstrated ability to give presentations to internal and external customers Must be able to meet Anthropometrical Size Requirements for confined space Demonstrated knowledge of mobility systems and vehicle performance Strong knowledge of cross-departmental procedures / practices and vehicle design practices Basic understanding of requirements development and system verification processes Intermediate computer skills in MS Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint Ability to travel (5% Cdn) and (10% US & International) and possess / be able to acquire and maintain a valid passport Preferred Qualifications P. Eng or the ability to obtain a P.
