**Position**: Lead QA • *Status**: Full-time / Permanent • *~ **The Studio** Compulsion Games is a first-party game studio and subsidiary of Microsoft’s Xbox Game Studios, located in Montreal, Canada. We are a boutique team of industry veterans, who trust and respect each other and love our craft. Our games have won praise for their art, music, world-building, and narrative. We are now working on South of Midnight, our recently-announced project. We like to take on troublesome themes. We try to make characters with compelling, human flaws. We care deeply about our team and their well-being, so you’d be joining a close-knit group of creative people. • *~ The Role** As a skilled QA Lead, you’ll be spearheading testing activities and ensuring exceptional quality in our games. As part of our limited headcount studio, you'll lead the testing efforts, mentor a small internal team and help them grow as professionals, and maintain collaboration with the external QA partners. With a hands-on approach to testing, you'll play a crucial role in delivering remarkable gaming experiences, in the dynamic atmosphere of our studio. • *~ **Responsibilities**: - Manage a small team of QA analysts who integrate directly with the development teams and help them create quality content - Coordinate QA activities and test runs - Develop test plans and distribute QA tasks - Actively participate in hands-on testing and test case execution to ensure quality standards. - Clearly document issues and ensure they can be reproduced effectively - Create, maintain, and execute test cases for assigned areas - Provide constructive feedback on systems, features and the overall holistic quality of our games - Assist and mentor other members of the quality assurance team Follow up with other team members to ensure timely resolution of issues and effective collaboration. - Work and share with other industry veterans who are passionate about their craft - Communicate important tasks - Collaborate with an external QA team to ensure comprehensive testing coverage and alignment with quality standards • *~ **Qualifications** - 5+ years experience in game quality assurance - At least one year of experience coordinating QA tasks or leading a QA team - An excellent understanding of database and bug-tracking software (eg. JIRA) - Knowledge of automation is an asset - Experience designing re-usable test cases and test suites - The ability to work autonomously, prioritize & delegate tasks and take ownership of assigned areas - A passion for video games and interactive story-telling - An innate desire to understand how things work and a willingness to learn - Looking to join a top-level, creative and independent team If that all sounds like you, then we would love for you to come and work with us. • *This is a full-time position, with full salary and studio benefits based in our new Downtown location, by Atwater Metro station.
