We're building Fabric, an AI-powered coding assistant that helps developers ship faster. Think VS Code meets Claude - a native Electron app with deep LLM integration.
We need a senior engineer (SDE2 equivalent) to help refactor and strengthen our foundations so we can ship hundreds of new features. You'll work directly with the founding team on architecture decisions.
• Work from home 4 days / week
• In-office every Wednesday (mandatory)
What You'll Do :
• Refactor large monolithic files (3,000+ LOC) into focused, testable modules
• Improve type safety across 50K+ lines of TypeScript
• Add comprehensive E2E test coverage with Playwright
• Optimize bundle size with code splitting and lazy loading
• Document IPC contracts and core architecture
Requirements :
• 5+ years with Node.js, React, and TypeScript
• 3+ years building Electron native applications
• Experience with LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Google)
• Understanding of streaming, tool use, and token management
• Comfort with prompt engineering and agentic AI patterns
Nice to Have :
• Tree-sitter / AST parsing knowledge
• Experience with Zustand state management
• Familiarity with Claude Code or similar AI coding tools
Why Join :
• Early-stage equity with significant upside
• Ship features used by thousands of developers
Apply with your GitHub profile and a brief note on your Electron experience.
⚠️ Important : This is a contract role. We're pre-raise and expect to close funding in 3-6 months, at which point we can afford to hire for this role full time with benefits.
