Job Description
An employer is looking for a Jr. Cybersecurity Specialist to support cybersecurity operations for various customers across Westchester County, sitting in Harrison, NY. This individual will start fully onsite for the first few months and then transition into a hybrid schedule. This role is ideal for someone early in their IT career—recent grads or candidates with a year or two of IT support experience who have a strong passion and interest in cybersecurity. This person will work closely with a managed SOC provider to review and triage security alerts, investigate security events within SIEM tools, assist with incident coordination, and support internal teams with documentation. They will also participate in vulnerability scanning, threat‑hunting activities, compliance initiatives, and projects aligned with the NIST Cybersecurity Framework. This individual should bring foundational cybersecurity knowledge, hands‑on exposure to SIEM tools, and strong curiosity and willingness to learn. This position has a pay range of $27-31/hr.

Skills And Requirements
• 1–3 years of IT support experience providing incident response
• Hands‑on exposure to cybersecurity tools or concepts
• Experience using any SIEM platforms and EDR tools (Splunk, CrowdStrike, etc.)
• Experience with vulnerability scanning tools (OpenVAS, Nessus)
• Understanding of the NIST Cybersecurity Framework
Strong communication skills, eagerness to learn, and collaborative mindset
• Experience working in a school or educational environment
• Cybersecurity certifications (Security+, CySA+, etc.)
• Experience coordinating with a SOC or working in a SOC environment
• Prior involvement in threat‑hunting activities
Experience documenting cybersecurity incidents
